Samsung Galaxy A36
While we’re waiting for the Galaxy S26 series, Samsung is also working on its upcoming Galaxy A devices. We’ve already seen the benchmark results of what might be a Galaxy A77 device, but now it’s time to enjoy the numbers of the follow-up to the Galaxy A36.

Galaxy A37 may come with a major performance boost

Benchmark test results of what’s likely the Samsung Galaxy A37 showed up in the Geekbench database. The entry reveals that the upcoming mid-range device will be powered by an Exynos 1480 chipset, which appears to provide much better performance than the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 inside the Galaxy A36.

In the Geekbench test, the device with codename SM-A376B scored 1,158 points in the single-core and 3,401 points in the multi-core tests. The retail version of the device is likely to achieve even higher scores. However, the current results are already well over the 1,019 points in the single-core and 2,915 points in the multi-core tests achieved by this year’s Galaxy A36.

More information is yet to come

Aside from the chipset, we can only see that Samsung tested a device with what appears to be 6 GB RAM. The retail version of the device is probably going to feature 8 GB RAM, which would be the same amount as the Galaxy A36.

The Galaxy A37 will be one of the more affordable mid-range Samsung smartphones in 2026. Last year’s model started at $399, which made it a cheaper alternative to the Galaxy A56 and devices like the Pixel 9a and iPhone 16e.

An example of progress

We’ve seen the Exynos 1480 chipset in the Galaxy A55, which was one of the most popular mid-range devices in 2024. Two years later, the same chip will power an even more affordable chipset. One could argue that Samsung is reusing old parts, but I think this move is a sign of how fast smartphones are progressing.
