Here's how much the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite will cost

Loads of people love the S Pen stylus but few are willing to spend $1,000 or more on a flagship phone. That’s why Samsung is developing the Galaxy Note 10 Lite, which will cost significantly less than its premium counterparts.

According to information obtained by WinFuture from European retailers, the Galaxy Note 10 Lite will be priced at €629.99 in Spain and Portugal at launch. These countries have slightly higher tax rates than some neighboring markets, meaning the phone could be available for €619.99 in a handful of other European countries.

The lower price mentioned above is the result of several changes that have helped Samsung cut costs on the phone. Externally, the biggest change is perhaps the 6.7-inch Infinity-O display because it ditches the pricey curved edges seen on the Galaxy Note 10+ and is expected to feature a lower resolution. 

Samsung has also modified the rear camera setup by introducing a new square-shaped bump that houses three downgraded sensors. These will reportedly include a 48-megapixel primary camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle alternative, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor for those blurred backgrounds that everybody loves.

As for the internal setup, it seems as though the Galaxy Note 10 Lite is actually a repackaged Galaxy Note 9 with a few tweaks. Reports point towards the presence of Samsung's old Exynos 9810 chipset coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage that can be further expanded via a microSD card slot.

This will all be backed up by a huge 4,500mAh battery which itself is going to be paired with the efficient Android 10 operating system and Samsung's custom One UI 2.0 overlay. Support for 4G LTE networks is to be expected too, but don't expect compatibility with 5G networks.

Although a US release is yet to be confirmed, such a decision would likely force Samsung to create a separate version of the phone with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 rather than the Exynos counterpart to ensure carrier compatibility.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite is expected to go official at a yet-to-be-announced event reportedly scheduled for mid-January. It looks set to be accompanied by the Galaxy S10 Lite and should initially be available to purchase in India before availability is expanded.

In India and other Asian markets where Samsung's Galaxy A series is considerably more popular than the Galaxy Note line, the South Korean giant is expected to market it as the Galaxy A81 despite the identical specifications. The Galaxy Note 10 Lite branding will be reserved for Europe and any other market where the flagship branding is popular. It, therefore, goes without saying that, if a release was to happen in the US, it'd be marketed as the Galaxy Note 10 Lite.
