Furthermore, you can trade in an eligible device with Motorola to save up to $400 on the foldable itself. Better yet, you can trade in a phone, laptop, tablet, or smartwatch, so it’s definitely worth checking out how much you can save by parting with an older device.
Just as you’d expect from one of the best foldable phones on the market, the Razr Fold delivers insanely fast performance courtesy of Qualcomm’s top-tier Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip and 16GB of RAM.
Yes, you aren’t getting the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 silicon unlike with the Galaxy Z Fold 8, but the chipset sits just below the flagship, and I assure you: the only way you’ll feel the difference is if you’re a hardcore power user who multitasks with a gazillion heavy apps and needs the absolute peak of today’s chipset engineering. Otherwise, you should be completely fine and more than satisfied with how fast and responsive your fancy foldable phone is.
Another highlight is the displays. Both are OLED panels with Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support, offering pleasant visuals. You can barely notice the crease on the 8.1-inch inner screen, which, by the way, has a 120Hz refresh rate and 2484 x 2232 resolution. That said, it delivered just over 2,000 nits of peak brightness in our tests, rather than Motorola’s advertised 6,200 nits. It’s bright enough to easily use in direct sunlight, so no issues there.
