Renowned leaker Evan Blass dropped the whole marketing kit in one go.

The same Blass leak that revealed Galaxy Z Fold 8 marketing materials also includes a batch for the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Samsung's flagship flip phone, and the best part isn't the hardware. These images lean into a beefed-up cover screen experience, including a Samsung Health widget and a new dual preview camera mode.

What the leak reveals about the cover screen

Evan Blass (@evleaks) is behind this batch too, the same insider who dropped Samsung's Fold 8 marketing kit around the same time. This one covers the Galaxy Z Flip 8, and the standout part isn't the hardware.

The cover screen does a lot more here than past Flip generations. The materials show Samsung Health running natively on it, complete with an Energy score ring, plus a quick toggle panel for flashlight, Wi-Fi and media controls without unfolding the phone.

There's also a dual preview camera mode, which mirrors the shot on the cover screen so the subject can check their framing before the photo gets taken.

What this means for the flip phone market

Reserve the Galaxy Z Fold 8 or Z Flip 8 at Samsung
Samsung has just opened its reservation campaign, allowing you to reserve your next Galaxy Z Fold 8 or Z Flip 8 device. The official store is giving you a $30 reservation credit, plus a chance to win one of 10 $500 gift cards.

On the hardware side, this doesn't move the needle much. The materials show a 50 MP wide camera with 2x optical quality zoom, a 12 MP ultra-wide and a 4,300 mAh battery, specs we'd already confirmed from prior leaks.

If you're eyeing Motorola instead, our review of the Razr Ultra 2026 called it the most premium flip phone you can buy, but barely changed despite a $200 price hike, and we even said it was worth waiting for the Flip 8. Motorola's model still edges it out on battery capacity, 4,700 mAh to 4,300 mAh.

What's confirmed in the leaked materials

Here's what the images point to:

  • A 50 MP wide camera with 2x optical quality zoom, paired with a 12 MP ultra-wide
  • 10 MP selfie camera on the main display
  • 4,300 mAh battery, unchanged from the Flip 7
  • Cover screen widgets for Samsung Health, weather and quick toggles
  • A dual preview camera mode for cover screen shooting
  • A pink colorway

The materials don't show the chip, but earlier reporting points to Samsung sticking with an Exynos 2600 for most markets.

Where this leaves us

The software flourishes are a smart move if the hardware really is staying put again. A slightly better camera and the same battery would be a tough sell alone, but a cover screen running Samsung Health natively gives people a reason to care beyond the numbers.

I'd still call this an incremental upgrade overall, and that's fine for a phone that's already refined. Here's hoping the dual preview mode is as useful in practice as it looks here.
