I believe Apple under Ternus will be business as usual, and I’m not surprised that others agree

Tim Cook was the very recognizable face of Apple for a very long time, but that doesn't mean that John Ternus isn't suited to the job.

Apple has a new CEO — John Ternus — who will unveil the iPhone 18 Pro, the iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the foldable iPhone Ultra tomorrow, along with a few other new products. With Tim Cook now an Apple Executive Chairman instead, one might wonder where the company is headed.

I, personally, think that it will just be business as usual, and I’m not surprised to see that most of you agree with that sentiment.

Business as usual for Apple

In a recent poll about Apple’s future under John Ternus, we asked you what you thought awaited the company. Almost 54 percent of you said that Apple will chug along as always, continually growing at a steady pace year after year.

Meanwhile, almost 22 percent of voters think that Apple will actually grow even faster now. Under John Ternus, the company will reach greater heights much faster according to some of you.

Ex-Apple CEO Tim Cook has done an excellent job:

Others believe the end is nigh

On the other hand, a little over 20 percent of respondents think that Apple is now going to enter a period of slow decline. Eventually, over the next few years, the company will become an irrelevant relic of the past and the world will move on.

Lastly, only under four percent of you feel that Cook was the only thing holding Apple together. With him out of the office of CEO, Apple will now plummet, crash, and spiral incredibly quickly and go out with a disastrous display of incompetence.

I think Apple and Ternus have nothing to worry about

While I don’t believe that the company is infallible (see the Apple Vision Pro), I do think that it’s just going to be business as usual. The iPhone is a global cultural phenomenon and, with the company trying out new things at a much quicker pace now, I believe that a very large market for the iPhone is here to stay for the foreseeable future.

It might not be true forever, but Apple really is too big to fail at the moment. Not to mention that a change of CEOs usually doesn’t mean anything about how a company operates. That might not be as true for Apple, but I doubt that Ternus would do a complete 180 on his first day in office.
