Apple's forever young iPad mini 4 is on sale at only $160 in refurbished condition
Apple kept fans of compact tablets waiting for a new iPad mini generation almost four whole years, but perhaps the most disappointing thing about the company's early 2019-released 7.9-incher is how similar it looks to the 2015 edition on the outside. The two share not only a general design language, but also the exact same physical dimensions, build materials, and outdated Touch ID fingerprint sensor.

Of course, the newer iPad mini comes with a much newer and faster processor under the hood, as well as an improved screen with True Tone technology, an upgraded front-facing camera, and Apple Pencil support (although the actual stylus is obviously sold separately). Speaking of sales, you also have to consider the fifth-gen iPad mini starts at $399.99, while its predecessor can be purchased for as little as $159.99 today only.

We're not looking at brand-new, unused, unopened, and undamaged items here, mind you, as those are no longer in circulation, but Woot promises these crazy affordable units have been tested to be in "full working condition", backing that pledge with a 90-day limited warranty. The refurbished 16GB Wi-Fi-only devices are likely to present a "moderate level of wear & tear including (but not limited to) scratches, dents, and dings", although even after considering that word of caution, it's hard to argue with the quality/price ratio here.

At 160 bucks, the iPad mini 4 is "ridiculously light" (299 grams) and "seriously thin" (6.1mm), nonetheless providing stellar battery life. And yes, the so-called Retina display is still unrivaled at this size, with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels and a 324 ppi density. Granted, the Apple A8 SoC is not exactly a powerhouse by 2019 standards, but in most everyday usage scenarios, it should still adequately get the job done.
