WhatsApp for iPhone updated with Picture-in-Picture mode, other improvements
WhatsApp has just released a new update for its iPhone version, which brings some improvements aimed at European users, as well as new features that should be available to everyone. The most important seems to be the new PiP ability that's been teased for quite a long time.

The new Picture-in-Picture mode supports two services for the moment, Instagram and Facebook, which means that whenever you receive a link to a video hosted by one of these services, you'll be able to play it right within WhatsApp.

Moreover, you'll be able to continue to watch the video while navigating to another chat and share your impressions with your friends. But that's not all that WhatsApp included in the latest update.

If you live in Europe, you'll notice that when you try to register an account on WhatsApp, you'll have to confirm that you're at least 16 years old. We've talked about this special requirement last week when WhatsApp updated its privacy policy to comply with the new regulations imposed by EU.

Finally, some admin-related features have been added too, such as the ability to remove admin rights from other participants if you're the admin of that group. You'll be able to do that by choosing “Dismiss As Admin” in the “Group info” menu.

Also, group admins will now be able to choose who can change a group's subject, icon, and description. The new option is available in the Group info / Group settings.

Some other tweaks, improvements and bug fixes have been implemented as well, so expect many features like voice recording, chat history, as well as voice and video calls to perform better after the update.
