Truecaller for Windows Phone gets discontinued, Android version gets a small update

Another major developer has just announced it has decided to stop supporting Windows Phone and redirect its resources to the other big mobile platforms – Android and iOS, Truecaller. The CallerID app is pretty successful in India and several other markets where millions are using it to prevent spam calls.

Unfortunately, those who are still using a Windows Phone handset won't be able to take advantage of all the features Truecaller usually has to offer. Going forward, Windows Phone users will have to look up numbers on Truecaller's website rather than on their phones.

In the meantime, the Android version of Truecaller received a small update that adds a brand new block section, which should allow users to manage their block list much easier. In addition, the update fixes an issue that caused mark SMS as read to not work at times.

Sadly, the update is not available on iOS devices yet and there's no telling when and if the new block section will make it to Truecaller in the App Store.
