The pressing need of simpler and more affordable devices, especially in the developing countries is one of the major reasons behind the growing supply of similar handsets. The three new phones by LG make for an illustrative example. Information about them appeared earlier today and we now know these are the U230
. Not much is known about the former two other than sketchy details like they will feature Bluetooth and run on GSM networks. The LG GS200 will be equipped with display with native resolution of 128х160 pixels, while both the LG GU230 and GS200 will have twin brothers called the GU220 and GS190 that will supposedly roll out on different markets.
The LG GB170 is already available in Russia. It is a music-oriented handset that sports 1.5-inch display, microSD slot, support for expansion cards of up to 8GB, FM radio, MP3 player and 3.5mm jack and comes with a more than reasonable price-tag - $72.
