T-Mobile's LG V30 to be updated to Android Oreo in two weeks

According to a tweet disseminated on Friday by T-Mobile's product tester Des, the carrier's version of the LG V30 was supposed to have been updated to Android Oreo this week. However, to quote the tweet, "...the OEM made a booboo and they're spinning a new build." Des went on to say that once T-Mobile receives the new build, it will validate it and push it out to its subscribers sporting the LG V30. He says that this should happen in about two weeks.

Verizon's variant of the LG V30 received Android 8.0 last month, as did the AT&T branded LG V30, and the version of the phone offered by Sprint. Android Oreo includes features like picture-in-picture. This allows users to watch a video on the screen while still multitasking with the app running in the background. With Android Oreo, notification dots will appear on the home screen icons of apps that have unread notifications. After installing Android 8.0 on your LG V30, you'll find a lighter, leaner Settings menu with all of the fat cut out of it. And the update will allow you to snooze notifications by swiping one to the left or right. By default, notifications take a one-hour siesta, but options are available for a 15-minute, 30-minute and two hour snooze.

When the notification appears telling you that your T-Mobile LG V30 has received Android 8.0, make sure that you are connected to a Wi-Fi network before you do anything. You should also have your battery fully charged before starting the updating process.
