The first rumor about a new wide-fold device from Honor surfaced eight (!) months ago. A Weibo tipster published a cryptic post about a new foldable form factor in the works.
Huawei Central picked up the news, and later on, famous leaker Digital Chat Station corroborated the info in a Weibo post, adding hardware details about the upcoming Honor wide-fold phone.
The latest information comes from another prolific leaker on the Weibo network, going by the handle Smart Pikachu. The Pokémon-inspired tipster posted that the new Honor wide-fold is scheduled to launch in January into an increasingly rich ecosystem.

Honor has a established line of book-style foldables in the form of the Honor V-series, but the company used to have another interim series as well.
The Honor Vs lineup served as a half-generation series to bridge the gap between big flagship foldable releases and create a tick-tock cycle with two devices per year.
According to information coming from Chinese tipsters, the new Honor wide fold is set to replace the Vs series, including price-wise.

The upcoming Honor wide fold is expected to really challenge the iPhone Duo and the Galaxy Fold 8 when it comes to specs. The phone is rumored to feature the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset, a 7.6-inch inner display, a 5.5-inch cover screen, and a 4:3 aspect ratio.
Further down the spec sheet, we expect a powerful camera system with a 200MP main camera alongside a periscope telephoto lens in a horizontal camera island setup.
Honor is also expected to pack a massive battery inside its first wide foldable — a cell reportedly exceeding 7,000 mAh, making it the device with the largest battery in this new segment.
