Spotify finally gains support for iPhone XR/XS Max and Apple Watch Series 4 displays
The iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR

Almost four months after Apple announced the iPhone XR, iPhone XS Max, and Apple Watch Series 4, Spotify is finally introducing support for their respective displays as part of the latest update to its iOS app.

Until today, users of the Spotify app on either of the iPhones mentioned above had two options; either activate UI stretching in order to have an all-screen experience or make do with black bars around the app.

Similar to this, Spotify’s Apple Watch app now finally supports the large panel included on the Series 4. Previously, it only supported the smaller displays present on older, despite the fact Spotify launched the app after the Apple Watch Series 4 was released.

In addition to the above, the update also brings support for the latest iPad Pro models and the usual “bug fixes and improvements.” Unfortunately, one thing that’s still missing is offline playback support on the Apple Watch meaning that, unlike Pandora’s app, Spotify’s alternative is still just a controller for the iPhone app.
