Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 and Tab S 8.4 officially available in the US

Samsung today informed us that its newest high-end tablets, the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 and Galaxy Tab S 8.4, are now available to buy in the US. Of course, we already knew that both devices would be launched around the end of June, as pre-orders for them were opened shortly after their official announcement earlier this month.

As you may have heard, the cheapest among the two new tablets is the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4, which costs $399.99. The larger Galaxy Tab S 10.5 can be yours for $499.99. For the moment, Samsung is selling only Wi-Fi versions of the slates, with LTE-capable variants likely coming in the next few months.

Both the Tab S 10.5 and Tab S 8.4 are extremely thin (0.26 inches), and are available in two color options: titanium bronze, and dazzling white. They are the world’s first high-resolution AMOLED tablets, sporting Super AMOLED screens with 2,560 x 1,600 pixels. You can check out our Galaxy Tab S 10.5 hands-on here, and our Galaxy Tab S 8.4 hands-on here.

Customers buying the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 and Galaxy Tab S 8.4 directly from Samsung have to take note that the tablets “will be shipped in 10-14 business days.” Amazon seems to be able to send any of the two devices faster (by June 30), while asking the same prices. You can order the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 and Tab S 8.4 from Samsung or Amazon at the source links below.

if the base storage is 32gb. the 8.4in could had been a sure buy for me. I guess I will wait for Nexus series on this one. I got to keep my Nexus 10 longer for now.

Waiting for 32GB, LTE and hopefully an actual black version launching with the LTE lot. The brown + gold is really tacky to me.
