Pre-order the Microsoft Lumia 550 now from Carphone Warehouse; phone arrives December 8th

On the same day last month that saw Microsoft officially introduce its new high-end handsets (the Microsoft Lumia 950 and the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL), the company also introduced a new entry-level model. The Microsoft Lumia 550 sports a 4.7-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 720 x 1280. That works out to a pixel density of 314ppi. Remember when that level of pixel density was seen on premium handsets?

With a Snapdragon 210 chipset bringing a quad-core 1.1GHz CPU to the table along with the Adreno 304 GPU, the Lumia 550 is equipped with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable internal storage. The camera combo from back to front is 5MP/2MP, and a 2100mAh battery powers the whole shebang.

If you're looking for a new low-end phone packed with Windows 10 Mobile out of the box, you can now pre-order the Lumia 550, unlocked and SIM free, from U.K. phone retailer Carphone Warehouse. The full retail price of the phone works out to the equivalent of $137 USD. Installment options offer monthly payments as low as $11.42 a month. Free delivery is expected by December 8th, more than two weeks before Christmas. If interested, click on the sourcelink at the end of the story.

While the Lumia 950, Lumia 950 XL and Lumia 550 have been officially introduced by Redmond, there is the possibility that we will soon see the Microsoft Lumia 650 unveiled. A sequel to the Microsoft Lumia 640, no specs have been released by the rumor mill at this point in time.
