Pictures could show a disguised LG G5 hidden inside a dummy box
An LG handset wearing a dummy box as a disguise, could be the LG G5. The manufacturer is holding a media event on February 21st, and we expect the company's newest flagship model to be unveiled at that time. The dual rear cameras on back are rumored to be 16MP and 8MP, and dovetails with previous leaks that called for the phone to sport two rear snappers. A fingerprint scanner is placed directly underneath the lenses.

Other hardware components match up to earlier reports, including the new placement of the volume rocker from the back to the left side. The SIM tray and microSD slot are on the lower right, and the USB Type-C port can be found on the bottom along with a speaker. It seems that LG has decided that the back of a phone is just not a comfortable place to put certain controls.

We have a few photos of this mystery LG device disguised in a dummy box. Is it the LG G5? Check it out for yourself by clicking on the slideshow below.

Thanks for the tip!

I don't know about you but I'm used to have the volume buttons on the back, and they don't get pressed accidentally when I'm holding the phone to watch YouTube.

What's the size for if the optimization is poor?

What's the optimization for, if the size is mean?

You sir, deserve a cookie!

You need a lot of size for a battery on Android because of poor Java. That's why Android phones have larger batteries than iPhones lol. You think these companies actually "enjoy" releasing "big" batteries. It's the minimal for you guys.

True, but there are phones on the Android realm that are of lower capacity that outperform phones with bigger batteries in terms of endurance.

Most Android phones with lower capacity batteries (below 2500mAh) aren't flagships and do not feature Quad HD or even Full HD resolution. And we all know that the lower the resolution, the better the battery life, but poor UX. We do not want to shoot in 4K, but watch it in HD!

So I'm assuming you don't know what undoubtedly means....

There are people in comments sections on other sites who have completely missed the point of the fact that it's in a dummy case, and think this big black brick is the actual design. It's quite funny watching them complain.

You mean crazy habit of some people complaining on prototypes which aren't even yet a reality!

Dummy case that is differently cut on the back compare to the previous leak, so, LG could know who is make the leak...mean that someone will lose job ? haha

I too think it's in a case, so those bezels aren't of the G5.

Crock!!! Looks like the removable battery is absent... I hope that this is fake or I'm wrong, but the phones with those (that I know of) don't have SIM trays. This would be a shame.

Look at those cut out from volume button and bottom, it looks so bezel less (especially with newer lg phone with 2.5d glass), it looks so thin (take USB 3 as scale, which is used at lg new screen at ces), almost impossible to have battery swap from bottom, especially considering there is microphone-usb-speaker at bottom. the finger print sensor on the back is not clickable from the look of it, maybe it's on top with audio jack, that 2 hole at the back must be magnetic for extended hardware. Maybe magic slot is on top in audio jack and connect to the top front? Or is that the second screen? The sides look curved like lg v10. The blue hole at the back is for nfc and wireless charger. The screen panel looks so dark and not reflective like oled, while IPS has silver dark grey coloured panel. It's side slot seems so wide only for dual sim, microsd is still possible. There is magnetic around the camera lens. Just my 3 cents.
