Oppo F1s with 16MP selfie shooter, to be unveiled on August 3rd

Just the other day we told you about the Oppo F1s. The "s" probably stands for selfie since the handset features a 16MP front-facing camera. With the selfie snapper comes special filters and features aimed at the selfie fanatic. The Oppo F1 sports an 8MP front-facing camera. The manufacturer might have felt the need to beef up the snapper on the front of the F1s in order to grab business from those who like to take quality self portraits.

Oppo is apparently sending out invites right now to an event taking place on August 3rd. During this event, the Oppo F1s will be introduced. The handset is expected to be equipped with a fingerprint sensor embedded under the home button. That happens to be a feature not found on the Oppo F1. The scanner on the F1s is rumored to be able to unlock the phone in just .22 seconds.

The Oppo F1 has been a tremendous success for Oppo. In certain Asian markets, the phone was the top selling handset in its price range ($225-$300 USD) in May. In other markets, it finished second. With the focus on photography in general, and selfies specifically, priced competitively the Oppo F1s could make some noise in the same markets where the Oppo F1 did well.

If you're interested in this handset, circle August 3rd on your calendar. On that date, we should learn everything about the Oppo F1s including specs, pricing and availability.
