Latest OnePlus 5/5T update is huge, adds new gesture, fixes some issues
OnePlus is rolling out another update to the OnePlus 5 and 5T smartphones and although it doesn't bring too many new features and improvements, you should prepare your devices for a sizable download.

According to OnePlus, the OxygenOS 5.1.2 update for the OnePlus 5 and 5T weighs in at 1.6GB because it's a full ROM update. The most important new feature is the addition of a new gesture that allows OnePlus 5/5T users to double-tap to lock the screen.

Also, the Gallery app now features Places, a map view of photos by location, as well as “Recently Added” collection. The May security patch is included as well along with the bug fixes listed below:

  • Fixed auto-rotation stability issue;
  • Fixed Wi-Fi connecting issue;
  • Fixed microphone not functioning issue for AKG earphones.
The update is delivered OTA (over the air), so you'll have to wait a few days if it's not available right away. However, since the roll-out begun over the weekend, chances are everyone got the notification.
