Motorola confirms Android 7.0 Nougat is coming soon to the Moto X Play

The two-year-old Moto X Play is going to receive Android 7.0 Nougat, Motorola confirmed recently. The smartphone received an update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow about one year ago, but few expected Motorola to offer Moto X Play owners another major OS upgrade.

Anxious Moto X Play users have been asking Motorola about the update for quite a while, but the US-based company avoided any communication on the matter. Today, Motorola India confirmed that Android 7.0 Nougat for the Moto X Play is in the works and will arrive soon.

Unfortunately, no ETA for the release of the update has been provided, so we're still in the dark as to when exactly the Moto X Play will be upgraded to Android 7.0 Nougat.

Well, at least now we know one of the popular Motorola mid-range smartphones, the Moto X Play will receive another major OS update, probably the last one.
