Mock-ups of Apple iPhone 5 available in China starting as low as $5
How would you like to impress your friends, school mates, members of the opposite sex and your parents? Well, yeah, telling them that you're a loyal PhoneArena reader is usually good enough to gain the admiration of those in your social circle. But suppose you showed them the 6th generation Apple iPhone in your hand before the phone is even announced? Imagine the new way others will look at you when you pull the Apple iPhone 5 out of your pocket. The only thing is, and this could easily be between you and the wall, the model in your hand is nothing more than one of those mock-ups that we've been seeing. Case makers get these built to make sure that their cases fit perfectly and leave users with access to the most important parts of the phone.

China's online auction site, Taobao, has a few Apple iPhone 5 mock-ups available for you to bid on. One model is currently going for 40 Yuan ($6.30 USD) while another is up to 48 Yuan ($7.56 USD). Some of the auctions have started at prices as low as 33 Yuan or about $5 USD. The units include all of the outer changes that we expect to see on the new iteration of the iPhone which includes the smaller pin connector dock and the earphone jack on the bottom of the device. Of course, there is the larger, taller screen and the new, non-glass construction on the back.

If you do plan on purchasing one of these mock-ups, your ruse will obviously end when someone asks you to turn on the device. At that point, you will return to your current status in life.
