Mid-ranger Sony Xperia SP available for pre-order in the U.K. from Phones 4U

Mid-ranger Sony Xperia SP available for pre-order in the U.K. from Phones 4U
The mid-range Sony Xperia SP can now be pre-ordered from U.K. retailer Phones 4U. Previously, it could be reserved from Expansys (more on that below), but Phones 4U has the phone bundled for free with some monthly data plans. The mid-ranger features a 4.6 inch display with resolution of 720 x 1280. Under the hood is a dual-core 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro MSM8960T with the Adreno 320 GPU crunching graphics. 1GB of RAM is on this puppy and the 8GB of native storage can be expanded by 32GB using the microSD slot. An 8MP camera on back captures video in 1080p and there is a .3MP front-facing shooter. While the 2370mAh battery is powering the device, the Battery STAMINA app saves energy when you are in standby mode by turning off the connectivity of  certain apps. Android 4.1 is installed on the device which means that it features Project Butter, Google Now and actionable notifications right out of the box.The first 2,000 people who pre-order the device from Phones 4U will receive a free Bluetooth headset.

With 4G LTE carrier EE, Phones 4U is offering the Sony Xperia SP for free with a monthly plan that includes 500MB of 4G data for 31 GBP ($48 USD). Or, you can go for the plan with 8GB of data for 56 GBP a month ($86 USD). If LTE is not so important to you, why not consider Vodafone's plan for just 25 GBP a month ($39 USD) which includes the free phone, 300 voice minutes, unlimited texts and 250MB of data. Perhaps the best value is the 28.50 GBP ($44 USD) a month plan from Orange which gives subscribers 600 voice minutes, unlimited text and 1GB of data. Oh yes, the phone is free with that offer too. If you want to buy the Sony Xperia SP unlocked and without a SIM card, it can be pre-ordered from Expansys for 339 GBP ($521 USD).
