T-Mobile CEO John Legere said today that pre-paid carrier MetroPCS is "taking the fight to Sprint." It is a busy day for MetroPCS with the unveiling of a new ad campaign, a new smartphone promotion, and a deal for those with a MetroPCS family plan who want to add a new line. First things first. Starting tomorrow, July 7th, port your number over to MetroPCS and get $60 off any smartphone. That means that nine handsets will be free with the promotion. The 'no-cost nine' includes the:

  • LG K7
  • Samsung Galaxy Core Prime
  • Samsung Galaxy On5
  • ZTE Avid Plus
  • Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL
  • HTC Desire 626s
  • ZTE Obsidian
  • Kyocera Hydro Wave
  • LG Leon LTE
  • Just a couple of caveats. One, you are responsible for the taxes on theses nine models. And two, we want to reiterate that you are not limited to these handsets. You can take $60 off of any smartphone if you port your number over to MetroPCS.

Next, if you have a family plan with MetroPCS and have at least one line on the 5GB/$50 or higher rate plan, you can add another family plan line for $25 a month. This includes 5GB of 4G LTE data.

And starting on July 8th during the finale of the UFC's "The Ultimate Fighter," you will see some new commercials for T-Mobile that will include UFC stars. The first spot features Ronda Rousey, and you can view it by clicking on the video at the top of this story.
