Deal: The unlocked Alcatel Idol 5S with Android 7.1 Nougat is on sale for 22% off

The newest Android smartphone launched by Alcatel, the Idol 5S is now on sale on Amazon. The handset made its debut in the United States only last month, so it's quite disconcerting to see this mid- to high-end smartphone being discounted earlier than usual.

The Idol 5S is the only smartphone launched by Alcatel that ships with Android 7.1 Nougat right out of the box. The 5.2-inch display with full HD (1080p) resolution features Asahi Dragontrail Glass coating.

On the inside, Alcatel's mid-range handset packs a 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage (up to 265GB). Photographers will be pleased to know the Idol 5S comes with a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera and a secondary 8-megapixel snapper on the front.

As you can see, Alcatel Idol 5S is a pretty decent mid-range smartphone, which makes Amazon's deal even better. Speaking of deals, Alcatel's handset is now available for purchase for just $217, so you'll be saving around $63 (or 22%) when you buy the Idol 5S.

Moreover, the smartphone comes unlocked and it will work on just about every major carrier in the US, including AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon.

Amazon has the Prime Exclusive version of Alcatel Idol 5S up for purchase as well, but it will come with offers and ads. If that doesn't bother you, then you can pick this one up for only $199.99 outright.
