Unlike the Surface Pro 3 and Surface Pro 4 (which are more expensive 12-inch tablets that come with a Surface Pen by default), the Surface 3 is a 10.8-inch (1920 x 1280 pixels) slate for which you'll need to shed an additional $50 if you want a Surface Pen. Moreover, while the Pro line is powered by Intel i3, i5, or i7 processors, the Surface 3 relies on a less powerful quad-core Intel Atom x7-Z8700 processor.
