Critically-acclaimed EVE Online MMORPG coming to mobiles as Project Aurora

Developer CCP Games has just announced that its EVE Online smash hit will have a corresponding title on mobile devices. Project Aurora is a new game in the EVE Online universe, which will try to bring a taste of the PC space-based MMORPG to smaller displays.

Project Aurora will be developed by PlayRaven, a Finnish studio known for titles like Spymaster, Robocide, and Winterstate. The free-to-play game will be launched later in 2018 on both the Android and iOS platforms.

Since this will be a free-to-play game, expect Project Aurora to be filled with some heavy in-app purchases. We doubt the mobile game will adopt the same freemium model as the PC title, which comes for free as well, but requires a monthly subscription to benefit from the full experience.

A massively multiplayer universe, Project Aurora promises to provide players with epic stories. They will have work together to dominate the center of the galaxy and become the most powerful corporation in the universe.

Although the game is slated for release later in 2018, Project Aurora will be soft-launched much earlier in a limited number of countries, so stay tuned for more on this one.
