Check out some camera samples from the Nokia XL

At MWC 2014, we took the green-tastic Nokia XL's camera for a quick spin. Our expectations weren't the highest, of course, which is why there was hardly any disappointment. The Nokia XL's camera is ho-hum, but this is what one should expect from the phone's modest price. There was considerable shutter lag, and the picture quality is not the greatest. But the camera does what it's supposed to do for a living - take photos. You'll be judge.

Photo #1 is just terrible. 2,3, and 5 are passable.

Oh, I'm sorry for giving my opinion on something. If you don't agree with it, either ignore it or disagree but don't try to start being ignorant.

Keyboard warriors. Tough on the internet, but a completely different person face to face. I reported him for being ignorant. Btw, do you like the Nokia X/XL?

I do like the NX/XL.. I like the whole idea of the device, and what it can potentially bring to Android fans, and WP fans... I think that MS should continue in this Android effort, carefully..... ....................... I didn't like the idea of Nokia making a Android device, and I thought it was crazy, but now I have much better perspective, and I understand the benefits that it can have for everyone.. It's pretty cool, and it just goes to show how the market can surprise us, and change at any time.. Nit that anything has happened yet, but you know what I'm talking about....

If they make a device like with the Icon's hardware but have it run 4.4, I'd be happy. Or dual boot.

I know a lot of Android fans would like that, but we have to understand that MS still has WP to prioritize, and can't afford to create more competition for itself... But, I'll tell you what... If I were to get any Android device... Lol!! Yeah, that would be cool.. ...................... I hope devices like tha NX can stop all the bickering between Android/Lumia fans... To me the NX has kinda brought the two platforms together in a way... WEIRD!

I disagree Like I stated in previous post. When MS closes on the Nokia deal it will be interesting to see if MS continues support of this platform. I'll say it again. They are not going to support android while under contract. Especially when their low end devices are doing extremely well. They will pull a Microsoft KIN & kibosh the whole thing. For MICROSOFT its only MICROSOFT who the 'F' is Android or Apple. MS wants no part of Android. They got Nokia for their hardware. They new Nokia had other plans for Android. But to keep the peace they layered WP over droid. MS put their Windows Tiles flavor on it & killed everything Google on it. Nokia ran off with this & its obvious that MS agreed to it to save the contract & because Nokia is a Global Co. & wants to be like Samsung, but are tied to the MS contract. They are simply stating that we are still Nokia. A hardware unit & will support both MS & Android. Nokia will effectively be in a freeze until Nokia is able to sell devices again after the contract. Didn't Palm do exceptionally well at the MWC. Didn't they win the award. But DAMNED if they didn't go out of business also. That Nokia X is a good idea but once the MS contract is ratified it will be dead in the water until the MS contract ends. I'm all for cross platform unity but I don't see how this plays out. REALLY you don't see Google granting MS licenses for their services. If MS started supporting Android they’d be really developing another OS just to have an open source OS & then be integrating it with their own. It be like Tenzen, Firefox or Ubantu. I give it to the editor I'm glad he said Nokia & not not MS cause at this point its really not Nokia running the mobile unit its MS in a couple of mths unless the whole deal falls through. So my opinion is that Nokia is fishing now & in a few yrs they will have a decent catch in the market place as a global hardware provider to all OS's.

Well, I can't agree with you, but then again I can't disagree with you.. .......................... We're just gonna have to sit back and wait to see what happens.... .......................... Nevertheless, in my opinion MS has changed a lot and a lot of you guys are still holding on to the past... I mean, even mentioning Kin at this point looses credibility for a argument because there is so much good that MS has done since that... If you focus on the good, rather than the bad, you'll have no need for such negative expectations... It's just a smartphone so you don't really have much to loose by betting on MS latest positive strengths.... They seem to be knowing what to do lately.

Pathethic Nokia fanboys... they spent the last three years, together with Microsoft, trying to bash Android in any possible way and saying it was laggy and now that Nokia had to resort to Android to build a decent OS that can run on low-end devices they are lost...

Yeah, well you never saw me engaging in fights about which OS is better, or talking about how Android lags, because I could care less how much Android lags... ............... I just defend WP, the very decent OS that MS, and Nokia have built,,,, from trolls as yourself...... Get over yourself, and just enjoy your device.. ................ And, for Christ sake change that horrible profile picture... We got a lot of younger people on here.. You're gonna give someone nightmare's!

My turn boosook hahaha You need to jump in that Delorean & hope your flux capacitor is working. We MS / Nokia fanclubs bashing Android!!!!! Really we were on the defensive. Any & evrything that came out WP OS y'all hated on & on any device it came out on we were the underdog; including the Nokia lineup with their underspeced devices. Ya need to flip a page back to 1955 cause when Nokia came out with the colors Droidy's were like Lions, then came the camera y'all said Tigers, then that 1520 hit the shelves it was Bears.....Oh!!!_My!!! Better click your heals 3Xxxxxxx's & say I wanna go home We have always supported MS & Droid & Apple We know their is a place for them all. Somehow Android fanboys like you somehow think nothig else should exist You must have been the 1st breed of Android Trolls Ignorance is so Bliss

You have to be Nokia-religious to call this better than Moto G...

21. rodneyej1

Yeah, it's not better than the Moto G, and it's not meant to be.. That's what lower end Lumia devices are supposed to compete against.. This is ultra low end, and anyone who says otherwise is not being realistic..

How do they compare to similarly-priced and -specced phones? The photos look better than those from an Asha, but worse than a Lumia (surprise!)

Nokia could have at least added Pureview tech to this phone(8MP) for added value. Their "big brother" M$ could easily have eaten any added cost, if there was any.

Curious as to what Microsoft/Nokia does with the 1820.
