BlackBerry Passport Silver Edition is unveiled early by Swiss retailer, reveals some changes

Now that we know that the BlackBerry Oslo aka Dallas is the BlackBerry Passport Silver Edition, the phone has been accidentally unveiled early by a Swiss retailer named PCP. The actual introduction of the phone is supposed to take place tomorrow for the North American market. If the online listing is correct, there have been some minor cosmetic changes made to the OG BlackBerry Passport.

While the Swiss site did use an old render to illustrate the BlackBerry Passport Silver Edition, the back shows a dramatically different looking camera and flash module than the one that adorns the rear of the original BlackBerry Passport. The ring around the lens has small print that reads, "13 Megapixel, OIS, f/2.0." Those, of course, are the specs of the rear camera on the original model. But something has improved. Back in June, CEO John Chen sent out a tweet about an upgrade for the Passport camera. Besides the different looking rear snapper, the bottom left and right edges of the phone are now rounded, which should make it easier to hold than the sharp squared-off edges found on the original model.

The specs appear to be the same. We are talking about a 4.5-inch screen for the Passport Silver Edition, with a 1440 x 1440 resolution. That works out to a 453ppi pixel density. Under the hood is the Snapdragon 801 SoC, with a quad-core 2.2GHz CPU and the Adreno 330 GPU. 3GB of RAM is inside with 32GB of internal memory. Since that gives users about 25GB of usable memory, those requiring more storage can access the 128GB capacity microSD slot.
