Apple calls on Jony Ive to narrate a product video for the Designed by Apple in California” book

Back in November, Apple introduced its next hot selling item launched just in time for the holiday season. It was a coffee table book with 450 photographs of Apple products beginning as far back as the iMac from 1998. The title of the book is "Designed by Apple in California." The large version of the book (13" x 16.25") costs $299, while the small version of the tome (10.20" x 12.75") is priced at $199.

Today, Apple released a product video for the book, turning once again to the voice over talents of design chief Jony Ive to narrate the video and discuss how highly design is thought of at Apple. Perhaps the best reason Ive gave to purchase the book is laid out in his sentence saying that "You understand the nature of an object so much more, when you understand how it came to be." He points out that there are many stories inside the book, told through the pictures of these devices that collectively made Apple what it is today.

The book makes a great (if not costly) holiday gift to the Apple fan on your shopping list. Check out the product video at the top of the story so you can get a better feel of what "Designed by Apple in California" is all about. You can find the book at certain Apple Stores and in the online Apple Store.

That's what sets Apple apart from the competition; they just epitomize "class".

You don't even own any Apple products, so why are you even commenting on this article?

Actually, I have a macbook (bought for my daughter for college), and iPod and an iPad for work (which I rarely use because Citrix interfacing is pure hell). So, for the same reason you comment with your "S7" and "Gear S3".

Well, apart from a few YouTubers, collectors and news sites who else is buying their ridiculous book? If humans are logical, sentient beings I don't see how Apple could have sold more than 5K of these books.

Sorry but ''class'' is gone. Long time ago. And the tech too. The only thing that sets Apple apart from the competition are the remaining fateful ifans(the unique breed), That's what still keeps Apple. For how long? We'll see.

Epitomizing "class" is subjective....most level headed people would agree that charging $299 for a picture book is more along the lines of narcissistic.

The pretentious douchery at Apple is at an all time high after Steve died. From this retarded book, to saying iPad instead of the iPad and calling the Apple store just Apple. This will just get worse now that only narcissists run the place.

'Designed in california' Not good face for California anymore. Not even for US. How long the patriotism will work with the iPhone and Pixel crap, no matter of the media hard job? Guess! LOL

Just wait until next year, when they innovate the curved AMOLED phone. Mind. Blown.

Bible of ''magic''. When they avoid innovation and the best new tech(because of the profit), they could count only on 'MAGIC''. And that's what they give to their faithful fans.

They innovated on that A10 chip. Care to discuss it?

Really? Seems to me you offered yourself up as a chip expert, yet when I asked you some questions, wellllllll......let's just say you didn't answer me. For your sake, back off on this subject.

Seemed to me you offered yourself up as a Gear S3 owner, yet you didn't prove it, well... let's just say you don't own it. For your sake, back off from wanting evidence of someone's YouTube channnel.

Don't waist your time with tedkord. Till now he is not recovered from the exploding issue of Note 7. I understand, it was a big and a huge failures. Samsung f**ked itself (and its lovers) by itself.

Cnour, you're in absolutely no position to be telling anyone not to waste their time with Tedkord, when 99.9% of your posts are just one-liner trollish comments.

Exactly, and he hardly ever replies back. He's easy to shut down.
