Amazon, Newegg deals take up to $231 off the Asus ROG Phone
For those seeking a gaming phone at a discount price, the unlocked 512GB Asus ROG Phone is on sale for $869 at Amazon. That is a $230.99 or 21% price cut from Amazon's usual price of $1,099.99. Amazon and Newegg both are offering the 128GB version priced at $699 for a $200 or 22% savings from their regular price of $899. The deals were originally spotted by Android Police.

The unlocked Asus ROG Phone is equipped with a Gorilla Glass 6 protected 6-inch AMOLED display, sporting a resolution of 1080 x 2160. That works out to an aspect ratio of 18:9. The screen features a 90Hz refresh rate for buttery smooth animations, which will make the video games you play look better. Since this phone was released last October, the Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform is under the hood along with 8GB of memory. On the back is a dual-camera setup (12MP primary + 8MP Ultra-wide). In front is an 8MP wide-angle selfie snapper. A 4000mAh battery is in charge of keeping the lights on and comes with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 4 (a 30W charger is included in the box). The phone is pre-installed with Android 8.1 Oreo and is resistant to splashes.

Last month, Asus introduced the ROG Phone 2, which will be released on September 4th. This model will be powered by the overclocked Snapdragon 855+ Mobile Platform that will offer a 15% performance boost for the graphics processing unit (GPU). The new model carries a larger 6.6-inch AMOLED screen and an even faster 120Hz refresh rate. Asus has increased the battery capacity of the sequel by 50% to 6000mAh.

But if money is an object, and for most of us it is, the original Asus ROG Phone is still more than a serviceable gaming phone and you can pick it up on sale right now.
