What's expected to change vs the Galaxy Watch 9:
  • Potential battery life improvement
  • Charging speed is due for an upgrade as well
  • Sleep Coaching activates after just 3 days of wear, down from 7
  • Running Coach improvements and other Health improvements
  • No leaks have detailed the chip, display, or sensor yet

Expected release timeline:
  • The Galaxy Watch 10 is expected to come in July 2027, alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 9 series and the Galaxy Z Flip 9 during a summer Unpacked event.

Expected price:
  • No leaks have come out on the pricing of the Watch 10 just yet. The Watch 9 went up $30 across every variant. Another modest increase is possible given ongoing component cost pressures.

Galaxy Watch 10 release date

  • No official date has leaked yet, expect a July 2027 announcement

*Probable dates

Every year, new smartwatches are announced by Samsung during its summer Unpacked event, alongside the company's foldables. There are no signs things will change in 2027.

Galaxy Watch 10 price

  • No price leaks have appeared just yet, expect around $399/$429 for the smaller, 40 mm models witn Bluetooth and LTE respectively

*- anticipated prices

The Galaxy Watch 9 got a price hike of $30 in every configuration. We don't believe the economic situation will improve in 2027, so another similar increase is likely. A starting price of $399 for the Galaxy Watch 10's 40 mm Bluetooth model may be possible.

Galaxy Watch 10 design

  • No leaked renders yet
  • A rotating bezel is an often requested feature not currently available for the standard Watch line, it may come
  • Design is largely expected to remain similar to its predecessor
  • 40 mm and 44 mm sizes are expected

Recommended For You

The Galaxy Watch 9 arrived with a similar design to its predecessor, sporting the same squircle shape and aluminum chassis. That's two generations without a design refresh, and potentially, we may see one with the Watch 10.

Galaxy Watch users have repeatedly requested a rotating bezel, which is a feature Samsung ditched from the standard lineup. No leaks are currently suggesting it may return, but hopefully Samsung listens to its community.

The Galaxy Watch 10 colors have also not leaked just yet. The Watch 9 was available in Graphite, Cream, and Silver, with colors depending on the size and not available in all markets. Expect a similar situation next year.

Galaxy Watch 10 display

  • No display leaks yet, but you can expect a 1.47-inch (44mm) and a 1.34-inch (40mm) display on the Watch 10
  • An upgrade is overdue, though, but no leaks are indicating it just yet

* - anticipated sizes and specs

The Galaxy Watch 9 didn't bring an upgrade from the Watch 8 in the display department. Hopefully, the Galaxy Watch 10 may be where things get upgraded here.

    Galaxy Watch 10 battery

    • No battery size leaks yet
    • Charging speed upgrade overdue, as the 10W wired speeds have been unchanged since Watch 8

The Galaxy Watch 9's 44 mm model got a small 2% battery bump to 445 mAh. Its battery life remained the same. The Galaxy Watch 10 would need to bring an upgrade in the department to stay on par with Garmin and Huawei's competing devices.

An upgrade from the 10 W wired charging speeds of the Watch 9 would also be welcome. However, no leaks are indicating changes just yet.

Galaxy Watch 10 features and software

    • One UI 10 Watch on Wear OS 8 expected at launch
    • AI health platform from Watch 9 expected to expand further
    • Sleep Coaching now activates after 3 days of wear, down from 7
    • Running Coach expanding training levels from 10 to 12

Samsung recently announced a new Samsung Health update, which brings new features to Galaxy Watches that would likely come pre-installed on the Watch 10. Sleep Coaching now works more quickly and only needs three nights of wear to start measuring things.

Running Coach also got two additional training levels.

Meanwhile, we expect the Watch 9's AI health platform features like Vitals, Heart Health Score, Daily Cardio Load, Fitness Index, and Hearing monitoring to return on the Watch 10. It is not known currently if there are changes planned for these features.

The Galaxy Watch 10 will likely launch with One UI 10 Watch on Wear OS 8.

Galaxy Z Fold 9 Ultra hardware and specs

    Galaxy Watch 10 expected specs:
    • CPU: Snapdragon Wear Elite 2 (3nm)
    • Battery: 445mAh (44mm), 390mAh (40mm)
    • Charging: 10W wired
    • Battery life: 30 hours with Always-On display
    • Materials: Aluminum
    • Sizes: 40mm and 44mm
    • Storage: 32GB
    • Connectivity: Bluetooth 6.0, dual-band Wi-Fi, LTE (cellular variant)
    • Sensors: BioActive, temperature, antioxidant index

The Watch 9 got the Snapdragon Wear Elite as an upgrade, built on a 3nm process and designed with AI in mind. Potentially, the Watch 10 may get its successor, which may or may not be called the Snapdragon Wear Elite 2.

As for sensors, expect the Galaxy Watch 9's BioActive sensor handles continuous heart rate, blood pressure, ECG, blood oxygen, skin temperature, and antioxidant index tracking. Whether the Watch 10 adds new biometric capabilities, such as glucose monitoring, is currently unknown.

It's important to note that non-invasive glucose monitoring has been rumored for both Galaxy Watches and Apple Watches for years and hasn't come yet. It's a difficult technology to make for a smartwatch, and it needs to be accurate. We doubt that it's going to come in 2027.

Should I wait for the Galaxy Watch 10?

    • You should wait for the Galaxy Watch 10 if battery life is your main frustration with the Galaxy Watch lineup. The Watch 9's 30-hour battery life has been unchanged for multiple generations, and the Watch 10 is the natural moment for Samsung to address the issue. A design refresh after two identical generations and potentially faster charging could make the wait worthwhile if you're not in a hurry.

    • You should not wait for the Galaxy Watch 10 if you need a watch now and health tracking is the priority. The Galaxy Watch 9's AI health platform is already one of the most capable on an Android smartwatch, and the October 2026 Samsung Health update makes the Galaxy Watch 9 better without a hardware change. The Watch 9 is available now at its current price, and trade-in deals reduce the cost further.
