I also strongly agree with the OP. This obsession with making phones thinner at all costs needs to stop. It's leading to too many compromises on the hardware side, and it's wholly unnecessary given how lightweight and easy to hold they already are these days. Make them bulkier again and give us better cooling, better durability, better batteries and charging speeds, bigger/better camera lenses, and bring back the headphone jack! Nobody I know uses the S Pen or an SD card, but getting back an expandable storage slot would be nice in place of those, especially if we're in the process of phasing out SIM cards for eSIMs.

Massive, elephant-sized agree about the SD cards coming back. Figure out how to make the 2nd SIM slot a dual--capable either/or multitasker. I'll literally never need a 2nd SIM during my lifetime, as my family does not travel internationally. Can't be that hard for them to pull off!

I used to love being able to take the SD out of my camera and put it directly in my phone for sharing and editing quickly and easily. So convenient! Also handy for moving a music library (or movies if your card was big enough) from device to device.

You can still do this, there's usb C to SD card adapters. Why add something directly in the phone that can easily be achieved through 1 port, same thing with Auxiliary. This can still be done through the usb c port. Just because it was directly on there before. Doesn't mean it was better. It is more minimal and effective through one port. As far as battery goes. The ultra has better battery than pixel and iPhone. (Note: there are more powerful options for battery that aren't sold within us markets.) They most definitely will be increasing battery on the devices soon. Thats just common innovation. They are simply trying to keep the devices light, slim, and powerful while finding ways to fit bigger batteries in the devices.

Some of us do! Lmao. I have some medical equipment I need to carry with at all times, and my back is messed up bad so backpacks are a no-go. Small purse works well. It's not really girly, though. It's sort of like a mini messenger bag sorta bag. I'm abt to turn 45, and I rly don't care if folks laugh at me. Lol

Nice! Messenger bags are great. Sometimes I wish we'd bring back fanny packs. As a fellow guy in his 40's covered in injuries, I'm also limited in what kinds of bags I can use without triggering sharp pains and muttered profanities :)

No, flagship devices should have the best specs of all phones the manufacturer has to offer. 5000 mAh is outdated for flagship devices and Samsung has used the same battery since the Galaxy s20 series. If Samsung doesn't want to use a larger capacity battery then they should look to use newer and more efficient battery technology such as stacked batteries so that we can get at least 1.5 to 2 full days out of a single charge instead of having to charge once or twice daily.

And more than that, the 100$ Galaxy A15 also has 5000 mah. I switched from A15 to S24U, the battery lasts a little less because the better hardware use more battery, and this is unacceptable! Same battery in a 100$ and 1500$ phone? Are you serious?

As much as I was a strong supporter of SD cards in Android devices, I actually realized that there isn't any reason to have one. I went from the Note 20 Ultra to the S24 Ultra and just got the 1tb version and I only use about 300 GB on my phone. All my photos and videos are in the cloud and my music? I stream everything. I don't even see a point in having the SIM slot because every phone is eSim anyways. Give me a slightly thinner phone and maintain the same S-pen from the 24 ultra and I'm good. Battery already lasts me for a 1 to 1.5 days based on my customizations. Sometimes I can get to 2 days if I wanna push it.

OTOH, if it's just for transfer, USB-C microSD card readers can be had for under $20 (or around $3 if you're willing to order some fly-by-nite Chinese brand), and then you don't need to remove the case, find a slot ejector tool, or go through any of the other hassles of slotting a card directly into your phone.

SIM card slots are getting more and more inaccessible, because a SIM is meant to be installed once and never accessed again. That's smart (SIM theft is a thing), but it's not a good fit with removable storage.

I don't care about the thin part of the S25 S26. Make the battery last for 2 days instead.

Personally I am happy. I like brands giving us choices and not all following one another.

You're right, I wasn't thinking in that direction that day, obvs. Haha. I already have an OTG cable (USB-A female to USB-C) for flash drive usage while out and about. I actually have an SD-USB C reader in my cart on Amazon currently, haven't pulled the trigger yet only because I don't really *need* it at the moment.

I use a travel Q-tip case (clear plastic rectangular clamshell box) that my wife brought home from the Dollar General ($1, maybe $2) as a travel case for my OTG storage. The FemaleA to MaleC adapter cable and assorted flash drives just nestle in nicely and are well guarded from any potential damage while traveling.
