WTF Alltel
My friend had this phone back in 2006 but dropped it in the water. While it states it IS water resistant - it's NOT water proof! Anyhow - he loved the phone and returned to Alltel for a replacement. He was told they "no longer carried that phone" and gave him a phone he HATED. After about 2 wks he took that back and got another (type) phone and HATED that one too. Upon checking online we see that it is available by phone. Call the company and they WON'T LET HIM BUY ONE UNTIL HIS CONTRACT IS EXPIRED! Having told Alltel Customer Service and all the supervisors available every single step of how he came to get this other phone they STILL would not replace the phone with the KX12. We are LIVID! HELP US KYOCERA!
Pros
- rugged, easy to use, no frills
Cons
- not for the trendy phone user!

KYOCERA WHAT HAVE YOU DONE????
I cannot figure it out I have nothing but very good phones from kyocera
What happened? I bought the kx12 and soon discovered that it was the most troublesome phone I have ever owned. I always am having to turn the phone off and back on to bring back the functions that all of a sudden just stop working. Turning this phone on takes the longest of any phone I have ever witnessed and I have had quite a few phones.
I think the processor is way to slow. The battery life is not even close to what the say in the tech specs.

kyocera KX12 very ruggid
Very rugged great reception even deep in the black hills of South Dakota and Wyoming,I get bars in places that are dead zones for other phones.and it can take punishment that leaves most phones in the refuse pile. And the flashlight has been a Godsend more times then I can count I'm a prospector, a reverend, and a storm spotter for Weston county Wyoming, and whether I'm in a mountain stream panning for gold,on the pulpit,or out in the middle of a severe storm looking for tornado's,I know that myself and the souls that I'm watching over can depend on this phone working every time.

Kyocera
Junk. this is the buggy phone i've ever owned. it turns it self off. it wont charge the battery in less you remove the battery first. the battery will last 2 hours some days and a week other times (dis-guarding usage). when your out of service: the clock wont work, you can't get any data from the phone at all, phone numbers, texts, appointments.
nice design, bad phone.

worst...phone...Ever!
As of next week, I will be on my third one of these, only because they won't let me change models under warranty yet. There are some serious bugs in this phone. Half the time the key guard does not work right, so I am bumping numbers almost calling 911 on occasion. also, I can never make the up arrow key on the directional pad work at all. Press and hold for contacts, and it just flashes back to the main screen.
As for the rest of the phone, the battery life has not been close to the 220 hours of standby, I'm lucky to get 50 hours. The key response is agonizingly slow, and reception is much worse than any other phone that I have been around.

Do not BUY
Ever since I bought this phone I have been losing my mind at how slow it is. Unless they came out with another model, all the rubber is falling off it rings when it wants to and not on my list to buy again. If you must buy this phone make sure you have the insurance on it or your SOL. Oh and if you keep it in your pant pocket for long periods of time your body heat makes the battery not last as long. I can maybe last at most two day without charging and only make five five minute phone calls. Hope this helps.
