Xperia Z1 Compact is now available for pre-order in select European markets
It seems that the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact is now available for purchase in some European countries. Select retailers from the UK, Germany, and France have listed the device as "available in stock". The device is priced a tad lower than flagship smartphones.

The compact version of the Sony Xperia Z1 is currently out of stock in Sony's own mobile stores in the UK, but the device is available with O2, where it is priced at $790 (£479.99) with pre-paid plan.

Sony's mini beast is also available from several online retailers in Germany. For example, Amazon.de has priced the device at $748 (€550), but it appears that the retailer has very few devices in stock.

In France, the Xperia Z1 Compact can be pre-ordered from SFR, a local telecommunication company. The device is sold in bundle with the Sony SmartWatch 2 and shipping is expected to begin on February 6. Prices start from $719 (€529,99) off contract.

Other online retailers across Europe also accept pre-orders for the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact with shipping starting mid-February.

Although significantly smaller than the Sony Xperia Z1, the Xperia Z1 Compact comes with almost identical hardware specifications, as it houses a quad-core Snapdragon 800 SoC, clocked at 2.2GHz, 2GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, a 20MP rear camera, and LTE connectivity. The device comes in either pink, lime, black, or white.
