Sony Xperia Z5, Compact and Premium price and release date (update: UK and EU pricing)

Sony just unveiled its most ambitious smartphone project to date - a complete Xperia Z5 portfolio, which includes a 4.6" Z5 Compact, a 5.2" Z5, and a whopping 5.5" 4K Z5 Premium. The trio is outfitted with a fast Snapdragon 810 chipset and an exclusive 23 MP Exmor RS camera sensor that lets them focus record fast.

That's not all there is to those puppies, though, as they have an ergonomic fingerprint scanner fitted in the side power key, and are waterproof, not to mention the usual two-day battery life you can expect from most Sony phones now. How much for all that glory?

Well, the prices are yet to be announced, though it's hard to imagine anything much more than the usual $600-$700 range for the Z5, about a Benjamin less for the Z5 Compact, and $700+ for the Z5 Premium. This scheme is confirmed by the Sony UK listing of the trio, which prices the Z5 at £599, the Compact at £549, and the Premium 4K phone at £699 on preorder. There's also tangential evidence about the prices on the continent itself (well, from Ricciolo, who has a pretty track record when it comes to Sony stuff) - €599 for the Compact, €699 for the Z5, and €799 for the Premium. These are the Italian prices, and Italy is one of the most expensive when it comes to flagships, so in other European countries these preorder tags might be about €50 lower, and maybe fall more shortly after the Z5 set hits the shelves, so the pricing is about typical for prime flagships, yet not for every wallet.

Availability is a different story, though, revealed fully when Sony announced that the Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact will launch globally from October 2015, while the Xperia Z5 Premium can be bought from November 2015 onwards.
