Samsung might unveil the 'half-metal' Galaxy S6 as soon as CES in January, dual-edged version in tow

What does it mean poor selling? I dont like Samsung much, i have it but i dont like it. Anyway, who sold more phones, beside Apple? I mean single model phone.
I'm not h8ing just asking. :-)

I'm not sure that Apple has that record. Consider Samsung sold high-end, mid-ranged and low-end GALAXY + Tizen (Bada) + WP + feature phones (touch and non-touch).

Ummm.. So is Samsung going for the 2 flagships per year thing as well?

How is that two flagships a year ? They released S5 in March last year. A month here or there is not really two flagships a year. Also, it will be a while after the unveiling when its actually hit the stores.
Sony have learnt their lesson of failed strategy of two flagships. Samsung won't do the same mistake.
Besides, this is PA remember ! They'll turn up tomorrow and say; 'Samsung might not finally announce S6 in CES after all ! How about that ! Shocking, isn't it !!'
Do you really think Samsung will release their top dog at CES ? They would definitely hold a separate event as they wouldn't want the Galaxy to lost amongst other releases.

I think he meant a regular S6 and the edged S6. Like the Note.

Yeah it would be too stupid to reveal at CES. Needs to have SD 810.

Hm, Samsung cpu will be better, they got 1 year up on the sd810, I.e.if all s6 use there new cpu it will easy be better than the 810 that the other, phones will have in the benthmarks

Exynos might be a bit more powerful, but it isn't as power efficient. It also has a tendency to overheat quicker and many games aren't optimised for them...

like their Galaxy Note/Galaxy S line biyearly product cycle since 2011? yep.

PhoneArena come on, everybody knows it's bulls**t. What's the point of relasing the Galaxy S6 with almost the same hardware as the current flagships.

only rumors at the end there will be again same design like its siblings so i m not expecting wow factor from samsung at all... actually there designing team sucks except note 4...

hmm dunno about this edge thing, maybe for people with tiny hands its ok, but already now with tiny bevels my fingers accidentally touch thanks to large hand, edge seems like it would complicate that like a million times worse then now?

To some degree, I think it is stupidly ironic that so many people obsess about a metal bodied phone. I know very few people who do not put cases on their phones almost immediately upon purchase thereby hiding what ever case is on the phone. I used to own an HTC one but never again simple because of the unibody. Yes it is pretty, pretty stupid that is. The idea of trading off a replaceable battery for a unibody case is, in my opinion, nothing more than ignorant/arrogant showmanship on the owners part. If Samsung does away with the replaceable battery in their S6, their sales will plummet even more (that is unless some of the I-phone kiddies migrate). I know I will add it to my list of phones I won't ever purchase again. Samsung---forget the unibody and radically reduce the Touchwiz instead.

i love the dual edge. maybe they should have an option to disable the touch on either of the dual panels tho so you can disable the side you hold if desired. it will still add much asthetic appeal.

CES in Vegas+Jedii lives in Vegas=Jedii at CES.

eh people complain about samsung design and yet praised the 4 design but just because it is have "metal", even if it still has the same design language over gs5 and note 3?

They certainly have the resources to pull it off. If they can release it with a QHD screen, SD810 or latest Exynos, Gorilla Glass 4, which they already used, then why not release it early.
Only reason to wait to mid 2015 is for the SD810 or the 14nm Exynos. If both are available, and they have the resources to make that happen, then why not sell the GS6 for the entire year vs half of it.
