Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will be launched on March 11 in 60 countries

Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will be launched on March 11 in 60 countries
Officially announced yesterday by Samsung, the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will be released on March 11, with pre-orders starting tomorrow, February 23. Like the S6 series before them, the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will be available from day one in many markets around the world. How many exactly? According to Korean publication Yonhap News, Samsung Mobile Communications chief DJ Koh confirmed that March 11 is the day when the new smartphones will be launched in 60 countries (including, of course, in the US, where all major carriers are getting ready to release the two handsets).

Reportedly, DJ Koh also said that, compared to the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S7 sales should be higher. First month sales will be crucial, that's why Samsung is throwing in a free Gear VR headset to those who pre-order or buy an S7 between February 23 and March 18.

It's been estimated that Samsung shipped about 38 million Galaxy S6 smartphones in 2015 (considerably less than initially planned). If everything goes well for Samsung, the company may very well ship over 40 million Galaxy S7 units by the end of this year. But we'll see about that.

The Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are not just more powerful than the S6 and S6 edge. They also offer various new important features - including dust- and water-resistance, microSD card support, an always-on display, and liquid cooling technology. For more details, go ahead and check out our Galaxy S7 hands-on and our Galaxy S7 edge hands-on.

Wait for the LG G5 instead of buying this junk from Samsung.

How come no one is calling out Samsung and their fan bois for BLATANTLY LYING about not being able to combine MicroSD and UFS memory?

Anyone who buys a phone from lying scumbag corporations like Samsung (2015+) and Apple who rape their clueless buyers with inferior/fragile/gimped phones that are made of glass and have no removable battery/ microSD with ridiculously inflated prices are complete idiots.

After 7 years of being a loyal Samsung customer who bought EVERY new Samsung phone, I am HAPPY to be DUMPING Samsung for the LG G5.

Yes but the excitement only lasted till the unveiling not till the launch. With the s7, I very much look forward to the actual launch as well cause I'm seriously considering to buy one.

The premium build, micro SD, bigger battery, (fast) wireless charging, IP 68 ratings & camera improvements, better looks compared to LG G5/upcoming HTC One M10 etc and the free VR headsets will be good enough to post a thumping opening sales for the S7 versions. With price reduction, S6 and S6 edge also become more affordable. Add to that the mid range beauties A3 to A9. One would be surprised if Sammy's mobiles sales get a bit of boost from March and eventually prop the profits up from last year.

S7 absolutely destructs iphone 6s & galaxy s6 in low light image quality:

Check how they shoot the same subject in low light:

if you read between the lines, he is saying Samsung have their sh1t together, and in comparison Sony don't. Or in other words he wants Sony to take note of how Samsung are doing because they are obviously doing a better job.

And after 6months when ip7 comes out, s7 will drop 25% in value.

No one would ever buy a phone if they kept worrying about value after 6 months.

That's a brand limited outdated tech phone.

Unless you are paid well you can keep up with technology. Or-else buy iphone dumbass phones.

That won't change the fact that edge plus is more beautiful, has better screen and camera than 6 plus. I buy phone for those features, not for the price. Yeah, if I have money constraint then I could get an iPhone now and then sell it later for a good price so that I can buy a better phone in the future when I'll be having money.

And for the same money you get curved OLED screen costing a lot more than that IPS in the iPhone.
And most components in iPhone don't need to be curing edge since it needs so little processing power compared to Android requirements, so you are getting a lot more for your money with the S7.

So if the Galaxy S6 sold 38 million units then it sold basically the same as the S5.

The S6 family sold more than that.
The sales numbers were estimated at roughly 45M.
