Meet Sony DK32, a magnetic charging dock for the Xperia Z1 Compact
The DK32's magnetic connector will steer the charging port of the Xperia Z1 Compact to the charging connector of the dock and firmly hold it in place while the phone is being charged. Thanks to the specific design of the DK32, it can be used as a comfortable stand as well. The accessory will be Smart Connect enabled, which means that you can configure what happens when you connect your phone to the charging accessory.
The DK32 dock will come with two changeable adapters, which will allow the Xperia Z1 Compact to be docked with or without a case on. The charging accessory will have dimensions of 60 x 46 x 16 mm and will tip the scales at 25 gr.
It is expected that the DK32 magnetic accessory will be priced at around $40.

Quite frankly I am FED up of companies releasing a new dock for almost every new phone. Just create ONE dock for ALL future phones.

I just don't understand why the hell did Sony had to come out with new Dock for Z1C again !
I just bought an Xperia Z1 plus its DK31 Magnetic dock in Dec and I love both, with a few bemols..., that do not seam to be adressed here, despite a new reference....
DK31 looks exact same as this DK32 and features listed are same too. Zero progress, then why a new model ? Is that for a different magnetic port again ? (Xperia Z port was very different from Z1's forcing a new magnetic Dock and new magnetic charging USB cable options un-expectively). What is the change then ? Can't we ever get tangible specs and INFORMATIONS on beloved Sony products ? Not just this marketing BlaBla...
The bemols on my DK31 are several that Sony has to adresss on future docks :
1/ The cases need to be selected carefully, so the phone with its case can fit the special adapter for cases of the Dock, without having to remove the case each time and use caseless adpter on Dock. I had to return on Amazon 2 x models of cases that did not fit my Dock adapter for cases, before I found the only case that fits (= The beautifull KRUSSEL case, very thin and superb in Black, while reasonnably solid).
2/ The attachement USB cable of the dock to USB charger is a bit too short for typical bedside usage, like Did Sony improve that on Z1C ? Is it USB3 capable now, or at least 2A/10W compatible now and on what type of connexion if yes ? Is this DK32 magnetic dock 2A/10W capable ?
Also in case of any improvement I'd be interested to know if DK32 is also retro-compatible with Z1 as I need to buy a new Dock for my Office for my Z1...

Can anyone verify FOR SURE if the Z1 compact will definitely work on all North American AT&T LTE bands??

I got used to my Acro S included Dock Charger in the box... so I think this might be a necessity for me if I get the Z1C.... However I am worry that the dock charger makes the microUSB port unaccessible and we can't use it for USB OTG or MHL mirroring... and that makes this promissing accessory a very limited one (and expensive)
My Acro S is docked in portrair (which I do not like much) and this allows the ports of my phone (all on top) to be accessible.. MicroUSB, Headphones, microHDMI, microSD, speaker, Camera, Led... The Only compromise is the camera button and Volume Down (which can be accessed via software)
Bottomline... this might be a dissapointment for Z1C users, looking for more ways to take advantage of this charger

This accessory could be the answer of your problem.

Well it does seem to help in being able to charge while using the microUSB for other purposes but I think I will pass specially for that rating...
Anyway thanks for showing me alternatives

I'm just trying to show a cheaper solution, but if price is not an issue for you you can do this.
