HTC Accord spotted in the wild, headed to Verizon

HTC Accord

HTC is expected to announce not one, not two, but three different Windows Phone 8 smartphones on September 19, and the rumored HTC Accord (likely just a codename) is among them. What we think we know about this handset is that it lacks a microSD card slot, yet should be able to take impressive photos with its 8-megapixel camera. We also know what the smartphone might look like, based on the image that was leaked not long ago.

But if you need an even more solid proof revealing the looks of the HTC Accord, look no further than this photo that just arrived in our inbox, courtesy of an anonymous tipster. The smartphone is branded for Verizon and has support for the carrier's 4G LTE network, he also adds. Without a doubt, the HTC Accord will ship with Windows Phone 8 on board and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, just like the remainder of WP8 handsets scheduled to launch before the year's end.

So if you are interested to learn more about the HTC Accord, stay tuned as the device is very likely to be announced officially tomorrow, alongside a couple of Windows Phone 8 siblings. The HTC event begins at 11:00 AM EST, and we'll be reporting all about it.

Thanks for sending this in!

It actually looks rather nice.

Looks like Samsung Omnia/Samsung focus flash to me.

Actually it looks more like a bigger HTC Touch Diamond tbh. Outer frame wise.

Yeah, I thought the same thing. Reminds me of a Touch Diamond.

Is great have three top OS contenders, because they are fighting to flatter us, competition is always good for consumers!

Whats wrong with color?

7. Mercenary posted on 18 Sep 2012, 03:21 1

It's the first time that I don't really like the look of a HTC device...

Why do they insist on making WP phones so garish and gaudy, with the bright color bodies, etc...I mean, I know they have no choice with the UI, but they could make the exteriors more refined and better looking.

13. ca2l3vin posted on 18 Sep 2012, 09:06

They tried that with all of their previous WP7 phones and no one bought them.

I liked the quality of those phones (HTC Trophy, HTC Surround, HTC HD7, HTC Titan, HTC Titan 2, HTC 7 Pro)

But if no one is buying and saying the hardware isn't unique enough then they change and people complain they have changed too much.

Seems HTC cant please everybody. Though im not a huge fan of color I like the way this phone looks actually.

I'm glad WP8 is going the way of attractive colors, aside from the black and white of phones the world over! Black and white phones are so two years old and we are now moving towards 2013!

I agree! A few years back before smartphones ruled, everyone had colorful phones. Now we're trapped with black and white rectangles. I like the color choices.

Exactly let the boring people complain about the exciting fun colors such as Purple, I rather love the look of this phone! (color included)

I love the color of that thing. Take my money.

This is the first time I like the look of a HTC device.

Since we found out last week that Tmobile would have as well and now Verizon, that will be good.

Looking forward to HTC and Nokia WP8 devices. It's going to be hard to decide which one of them to get...
