Galaxy S4 and Note 3 to get the Android 4.4 KitKat update late January, announces SFR

French carrier SFR braved the unwritten rule not to talk about Android update schedules, and came out with a statement that Samsung's flagship Galaxy S4 and Note 3 will be receiving the Android 4.4 KitKat update at the end of January (for the S4), and the beginning of February (for the Note 3).

The SFR team mentions that exact rollout dates will be announced later on, when more info about the KitKat update project trickles down from their software department, which is in charge of the carrier updates.

This goes to show that carriers around the globe would likely follow a similar timeframe for their own Galaxy S4 and Note 3 KitKat rollout, though as far as we know US carrier restrictions, they will probably drag their feet at least a month after, until all required precautions are met.
