The iPhone 20 Pro and the iPhone 20 Pro Max are slated for release next year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the iPhone, with Apple apparently skipping the iPhone 19. A realistic new render, based on the latest reports, has given us our most up-to-date look at what we can expect from Apple’s special iPhone model for 2027.

The iPhone 20 Pro and the iPhone 20 Pro Max are highly expected to feature a display with edge-to-edge coverage. Though somewhat similar to the Galaxy Edge phones of yesteryear, reports claim that the display will be designed so as not to distort the contents of the screen while also achieving a bezel-free look.

A much smaller Dynamic Island
Furthermore, the Dynamic Island will be shrunk down even further from its smaller-than-before size on the iPhone 18 Pro models. There is also a possibility that the Dynamic Island might become a punch hole instead, just like the one that Android rivals have.
Unfortunately, the possibility of Apple delivering on its original plan to completely remove the Dynamic Island from the iPhone 20 Pro seems unlikelier by the day.

The iPhone 20 Pro is also getting bigger, according to a new report. While the Pro model will go up from a 6.27-inch display to a 6.41-inch display, the iPhone 20 Pro Max will go up from a 6.86-inch display to a 6.96-inch display. However, that might be too much for some Apple fans.

There is also talk of the iPhone 20 Pro Max featuring a battery with a capacity of around 6,000 mAh, though this isn’t set in stone.
I expected more of the iPhone 20 Pro

The iPhone 20 Pro was a phone that I had been looking forward to very eagerly. If Apple succeeded in making a phone with no cutouts across the display, then the rest of the industry would have immediately followed.
The writing has been on the wall for some time now, though, so it’s not too surprising to see that Apple’s original plans are likely being postponed. Still, it is a bummer, I was really hoping for Apple to finally reverse the damage that it did by popularizing the display notch.
The iPhone 18 Pro is more than enough to tide you over until then:
