While upcoming foldables like the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the rumored iPhone Ultra are the big news of 2026, the palette is much richer in the East.
Not long ago, Oppo launched the Find N6, which boasts an ultra-slim design and a visually creaseless main panel. Now, Vivo's upcoming foldable has surfaced, suggesting specs that can make the Z Fold 8 obsolete even before it launches.

On April 30, renowned leaker Digital Chat Station shared exclusive details about the upcoming Vivo X Fold 6. From what the Weibo rumor tells us, this device could be a major competitor to the highly anticipated iPhone Ultra and Z Fold 8.

According to DCS, the device could feature a massive 8.02-inch 2K ultra-thin glass (UTG) inner display. This technology provides a premium feel while boosting durability.
The leak also suggests the upcoming book-like foldable device might also feature a 6.51-inch outer display. Contrary to earlier leaks, the Vivo X Fold 6 might come with a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chip instead of Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon Elite edition.

Battery beast
The rumored battery capacity is where things get really interesting. DCS claims that Vivo could equip its next foldable with a massive 7,000mAh battery. For context, the Vivo X Fold 5 features a 6,000mAh silicon-anode battery.

If this rumor is correct, the upcoming device might feature the largest battery found in a foldable phone so far. As for Samsung's book-like foldable, it might be equipped with a 5,000mAh battery, so the mAh gap between the two is huge.
Camera improvements may be coming
Last year's Vivo X Fold 5 is equipped with a 20MP camera on the main screen and a 20MP camera on the cover screen. According to DCS's leak, the upcoming device could feature the same-megapixel selfie cameras.

However, the rear main camera may be radically changed. Rumors indicate the foldable could feature a 200MP main large-sensor camera, as well as 50MP ultra-wide lens and a 50MP periscope lens.
Vivo X Fold 6 rumored specs
Display: 8.02-inch 2K main panel, 6.51-inch cover screen
Processor: MediaTek Dimensity 9500
Battery: 7,000mAh
Camera: 200MP main, 50MP ultra-wide, 50MP periscope sensor on the rear
A promising contender

However you look at it, Vivo's next foldable might indeed be impressive across the board. That said, the brand's foldables rarely receive a global appeal, primarily due to their limited availability. This year, the X Fold 6 will once again likely be limited to select markets.
For enthusiasts in the West, the Motorola Razr Fold, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the upcoming Apple iPhone Ultra will be the obvious alternatives. In any case, with its massive 7,000mAh battery and 200MP main lens, Vivo's upcoming device sounds incredibly promising.
