Why spend $1,000+ on a phone if you only scroll, call and text?! | Image by Nothing
Looking for a phone with a mighty battery that won't break the bank? Roll out the red carpet, as the Nothing Phone (4b) is finally here.
Borrowing heavily from its Phone (4a) Pro and Phone (4a) siblings, the new Phone (4b) is here to prove (once again) that you can, in fact, get a pretty decent phone experience without spending too much money.
The Phone (4b) in a nutshell:
6.77-inch Super AMOLED display
Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset
6,000 mAh battery (in India) and 5,200 mAh battery in other markets
Three cool colors to choose from
$400 price, but no US release
Display, dimensions and colors to choose from
Not bad at all! | Image by Nothing
The Phone (4b) lands with a fairly large 6.77-inch Super AMOLED display with Dragontail Pro Glass for extra security. The good news is that Nothing's new champ comes with a pre-applied screen protector and a case in the box, too. You can start using it right away!
The resolution is 1080 x 2344 pixels with a 381 PPI density, which isn't flagship-level, but the visual experience should be cool and I don't think one could complain at all. The 8-bit panel supports 16.7 million colors (not a billion like 10-bit flagship panels do), but, hey, an 8-bit panel is what much more expensive phones like the Galaxy S26 also offer.

The peak brightness is measured by Nothing to be 2,000 nits. This is impressive on paper, but in real life, the typical brightness would be lower. So, don't get angry if you can't see everything right away in direct sunlight. Just find a shadow spot to check your notifications.
We're getting the obligatory 120 Hz refresh rate for smooth animations and a 480 Hz PWM frequency, which is high enough to reduce visible flicker for most users.
The phone comes with an IP64 level of protection against dust and water, but I'd personally avoid throwing the phone in the local river for kicks.
There are three simple, but nice color options:
White
Black
Blue
And here are the dimensions:
Height – 164.4 mm
Width – 78.2 mm
Depth – 8.6 mm
Weight – 210 g
The more I learn about this phone, the more I like it.
How much are you willing to pay for the Phone (4b)?
Processor performance, memory and battery capacity
Hello once again, Snapdragon! | Image by Nothing
If you've practiced the ancient art of drawing with pencils (an analog stylus, sort of), you'll happen to remember that there's a 4B pencil – it's a soft, dark pencil.
There's nothing soft about the Phone (4b), though: it comes with the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset under the hood.
This piece of silicon isn't quite on par with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 from the Phone (4a), for example, but the Phone (4b) will be perfectly OK for your day-to-day tasks like endless scrolling, messaging your friends (or your favorite chatbot), taking and receiving calls and checking things on maps or the web.
The Adreno 810 GPU isn't class-leading, but this isn't a dedicated gaming phone.
The reasonably fast LPDDR4x RAM (only 8 GB, which is OK for a budget phone) is paired with 128 GB storage, which is UFS 2.2 standard – a notch below the UFS 3.0 standard that many phones in 2026 rock.
Users in India can enjoy a 256 GB storage variant of the phone.
In terms of battery, users in India (again) can take advantage of the Phone (4b)'s 6,000 mAh capacity. For the rest of the markets, buyers will get only 5,200 mAh. Eh, this is still more than the Galaxy S26 Ultra's 5,000 mAh. Of course, the Galaxy S26 Ultra has a much more efficient chipset. In terms of charging speeds, we have 33W wired.
Nothing says this (the 6,000 mAh cell) is their longest-lasting battery, so I'm eager to see what we'll find out in our in-depth PhoneArena review.
The phone comes with two SIM slots, but in Japan, users will enjoy eSIM. There's an in-screen optical fingerprint scanner.
Cameras
It's sad to see there's no dedicated telephoto, but one can't win 'em all.
The Phone (4b) comes with a 50 MP main camera (with a large f/1.8 aperture to let in more light for higher-quality photos) using a 1/2.76-inch sensor.
The 16 MP ultra-wide camera has a much smaller 1/4-inch sensor which I wouldn't rely on too much.
In terms of video, the Phone (4b) is capable of recording 4K at 30 FPS, 1080p at 30 or 60 FPS and slo-mo at 1080p/120 FPS.
Software and updates
We get Nothing OS 4.1 (based on Android 16) and a three-year promise for OS updates. In terms of security updates, Nothing will stick by your side for six years. Not bad.
Price and availability
The Phone (4b) skips its US release, but you can easily get one from the UK, for example.
It costs £299, which is $400, when directly converted. Not bad, not bad at all! Just keep in mind that if you happen to get a Phone (4b) unit from India, you won't have NFC capabilities. Units from other markets will be just fine.
