Two Nord series phones are expected to be introduced next month, which is a bit unusual for the Chinese company.

OnePlus has become a constant name making headlines in tech media. The Chinese handset maker no longer limits itself to just one or two flagships per year. The Nord series and its new Android tablets make OnePlus a worthy competitor for more established brands like Motorola, Samsung, Xiaomi, and others.

In this regard, it looks like OnePlus has two new mid-range phoned in the pipeline, the Nord 5 and Nord CE5. These devices have been rumored for quite some time, but we never had a timeframe for their release until recently.

The latest OnePlus leak claims both Nord series phones will be introduced on July 8. This is a bit strange since the handset maker typically releases these phones separately. For example, the Nord CE4 debuted last year in April, whereas the Nord 4 was launched back in July.

While it makes perfect sense for OnePlus to launch the Nord 4 successor around the same time this year, it’s odd that the Chinese company decided to combine it with yet another member of the Nord series.

It remains to be seen whether or not this rumor proves to be accurate, so here is a quick recap of what we know about the two phones so far. First off, the Nord 5 is expected to pack a high-end MediaTek Dimensity 9400e chipset, this is the same processor OnePlus uses in the Ace 5 Racing Edition (China only) and Realme’s GT 7.

Furthermore, the Nord 5 is rumored to boast a stunning OLED panel with 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and in-display fingerprint sensor. As far as the camera is concerned, OnePlus Nord 5 is said to feature a dual-camera system that includes a 50-megapixel main sensor and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera.

Previous reports also claim the OnePlus Nord 5 will be powered by a massive 7,000 mAh battery with 100W wired charging speeds and will feature a 16-megapixel selfie snapper.

Moving on to the Nord CE5, this is going to be a dumbed down version of the Nord 5. It will be equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset, 8GB RAM, and 256GB internal storage.

The Nord CE5 is rumored to feature the same dual camera as the Nord 5, and a similar 16-megapixel front-facing snapper. Also, the mid-ranger phone is expected to sport a 6.7-inch OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, and an extremely large 7,100 mAh battery with 80W wired charging support.
