After months of speculation, we finally saw an announcement of the Galaxy Buds On earlier this month, but they’re officially launching only in South Korea. However, a new leak has revealed that a global premiere may come rather soon, as well as a full 360-degree look at their design.
Galaxy Buds On may launch in Europe after all
While there’s no official information about a global launch of the Galaxy Buds On, the new earbuds have appeared on the websites of several European retailers. According to a SammyGuru report, the buds may appear in stores in Europe sometime in the first half of December.
The buds were spotted in Swiss store listings with prices ranging from CHF 179 to CHF 199, or between $217 and $241 when directly converted. The lower price is most likely a discount, so the higher one could be the official recommended retail price.
These prices aren’t far from what Samsung has revealed to charge customers in South Korea. The Galaxy Buds On will sell for 299,000 won, which directly converts to about $226.

Are the Galaxy Buds On launching in the US?

While there’s no official information about the Buds On coming anywhere outside of South Korea, it would be a surprise if Samsung didn’t sell them worldwide. There’s a non-zero chance the US release also happens sometime in December, even though we still don’t have any signs of such a premiere.

If this happens, it’s very likely for the Galaxy Buds On to come with a $199 price tag. As prices in Europe include taxes, the difference with the Swiss listings wouldn’t be a surprise.
While users on Reddit seemed to like the idea of the open-ear earbuds design, they were not necessarily won by the Galaxy Buds On. Many people commented that they like models from other brands, including the Galaxy Buds Live, which launched in 2020 and never got a sequel.

360-degree animations of the Galaxy Buds On reveal every design detail

Another leak has given us the most detailed look at the Galaxy Buds On design yet. Two animations, shared by The Cipher Project, show the earbuds and their charging case in 360-degree animations.
The charging case appears to use a cube-like design with rounded corners, which looks similar to the Galaxy Buds 4 series cases. There’s enough space for the curved band of the Buds On inside, and the transparent lid allows you to see the buds inside.
It’s all about the ecosystem
I doubt that the Galaxy Buds On will offer much better sound quality or comfort than other models with similar designs. What’ll make them a must-have for anyone with a Galaxy smartphone will be the exclusive features available only with Samsung devices. After all, that’s the perk of being in an ecosystem.
