For seven consecutive years, Samsung has equipped its Galaxy S Ultra flagship phone with a 5,000 mAh battery. With some Chinese handsets, like the Honor X80 Pro Max, sporting an 11,000 mAh battery, Samsung fans have been turning up the pressure on Samsung to replace the currently used lithium-ion batteries with the silicon-carbon batteries used by companies like Honor.
Actually, Samsung did employ a combination of lithium-ion and silicon-carbon on the batteries used to power its new foldables such as the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and the Galaxy Z Flip 8. However, the amount of silicon-carbon Sammy used in those batteries was so low that they are still considered lithium-ion batteries.
Samsung is conservative with the batteries in its devices since the Galaxy Note 7 exploded multiple times
Of course, with the sounds of the exploding Galaxy Note 7 still fresh in Samsung's memory, it is no wonder that Sammy has played battery capacity increases so conservatively for years on its flagship phones.
Most products sold in China must have the China Compulsory Certificate
The China Compulsory Certificate is, as noted in its name, a certificate that most products sold in China must have. It is a third-party safety certificate similar to the Underwriters Laboratories UL mark in the US.

Samsung is expected to introduce a new Galaxy S27 Pro model phone next year
Besides the 5,700 mAh battery for the Galaxy S27 Ultra found in the 3C certification listing, a 5,200 mAh battery was included as the cell expected to power the Galaxy S27 Pro. This is a new flagship model that will be released early next year as part of the Galaxy S27 series.

The Galaxy S27 Pro is expected to sport a 6.47-inch display and feature a 200 MP main camera. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 or Samsung's highly competitive Exynos 2700.
The 5,700 mAh and 5,200 mAh batteries for the Galaxy S27 Ultra and Galaxy S27 Pro, respectively, showed up again in South Korea’s Safety Korea certification database. The 5,700 mAh battery for the Galaxy S27 Ultra is identified by model number EB-BS958DBY under certification number YU10899-26034.
EB-BS957CBY is the model number for the 5,200 mAh battery expected to be used with the Galaxy S27 Pro. It is manufactured under certification number YU10899-26036. Both batteries are produced by China-based Zhuhai CosMX Power Jinwan Subsidiary.
The rumored battery capacity for the Galaxy S27 Ultra would represent a 14% hike in battery capacity next year
If these capacities are correct, they would represent a 14% increase over the 5,000 mAh battery used to power the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Other certifications have revealed that Samsung will allow 60W wired charging for the Galaxy S27 Ultra and the Galaxy S27 Pro, matching the speed of wired charging for the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
