While they don’t wow with super-duper performance, stunning displays, and top-tier cameras, phones like the G Play just work. More importantly, they do so without you needing to splurge absurd amounts of cash. For instance—and the sole reason why I mentioned the Moto G Play (2026) specifically—Woot is offering a $70 discount on this affordable fella right now. This lets you get one for only $179.99, which is a bargain price for a phone in this economy. Furthermore, the handset is brand-new, unlocked, ships in its original sealed packaging, and even comes with the usual one-year manufacturer’s warranty.
What I’m saying is that the retailer has turned an already solid phone for those on a budget or looking for a second handset into a no-brainer choice. I should also mention that while the phone comes with just 64GB of storage, you can add more space via a microSD card, so storage shouldn't be a problem.
Also, you’ll notice that the phone comes with only 4GB of RAM, which I agree is absurd in 2026. However, it also uses a feature called RAM Boost, which allows it to allocate up to 8GB of RAM from storage. Sure, this isn't the same as having 12GB of dedicated physical memory since virtual storage speeds are much slower, but it’s definitely better than nothing and keeps the phone in the budget segment—we all know how expensive RAM is these days.
On the display front, the phone has a 6.7-inch LCD panel with a 1,604 x 720 resolution and a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. The visuals are nothing to write home about, sure, but the high refresh rate is actually quite impressive. You rarely see a budget phone with such a high refresh rate, plus it makes it feel faster and more responsive than it actually is. Additionally, the screen has a peak brightness of 1,000 nits, which is sufficient to see in direct sunlight.
Battery life is where our friend excels. Packing a 5,200 mAh cell, it lasted nearly 25 hours in our web browsing test and nearly 13 hours in our video test, making this an absolute battery champ. I strongly believe this is a two-day battery phone if you don’t push it too hard and use it mainly for phone calls and messaging.
