Merely a week after we found out which version of One UI the Galaxy S27 Ultra might debut with, a tipster has given us more details about the upcoming One UI 9.5. As it turns out, Samsung may be developing one of the best iOS features for its new software build.

X leaker Fahad Ali Javed recently posted a screenshot of a supposed internal build version of One UI 9.5, revealing that Samsung may be testing a special feature that has been available to iPhone users for two years. Specifically, the new software may introduce app mirroring.
This feature allows iPhone users to interact with their iPhone's apps and notifications through a laptop even when the iPhone is locked. To use it, you must be signed in to the same Apple account on both devices.
According to the leak, the feature may work similarly on Galaxy phones running One UI 9.5. At this stage, we only know that users may have to ensure both their laptop and Galaxy phone are signed in to the same Samsung account.

How has your One UI experience been so far?
Apple's ecosystem is becoming less exclusive
While the app mirroring feature debuted in 2024 on Apple devices, it seems that Galaxy phone owners may have to wait until the Galaxy S27 Ultra to test it. Plus, since the X post gives us the details from an internal test build, there's always a chance Samsung could scrap the feature before next year's flagship arrives.
Regardless, it's interesting to see Samsung borrowing a feature that has been associated with Apple's ecosystem for some time. I agree that app mirroring isn't all that special on its own.
But here's the thing: the more of these small conveniences Samsung brings to Galaxy phones, the harder it becomes for Apple to claim that its ecosystem has features you can't get elsewhere.

When can we expect One UI 9.5?

Well, we don't know for sure yet. If Samsung follows its usual software release timeframe, we may see a stable version of One UI 9.5 debut with the Galaxy S27 series.
Fingers crossed
I didn't think a One UI version after the big One UI 8 revamp would ever sound exciting to me. But thanks to this tiny but helpful app mirroring feature (and, hopefully, other similar extras), Samsung is proving that it can still make its software more interesting with the right additions.
I'm just hoping One UI 9.5 won't take forever to arrive on older Galaxy flagships. Because if you have to wait several months to get features the S27 gets from day one, the excitement is bound to wear off.
