I might not be very fond of the new Pixel Watch 5, but give a fitness band any day of the week. The latest teaser by Google points at just that — a new, mysterious fitness band, and I can't wait to get my hands on it.
Mystery Pixel fitness band appears in a Google ad

Google posted a couple of ads to promote its latest Pixel 11 phones, Pixel Buds Pro 2, and Pixel Watch 5 on YouTube. One Reddit user noticed a strange ad from Google Australia, showing a mystery fitness band next to Google's recently launched devices.
The ad shows a Fitbit-like smart band sitting next to two Pixel 11 phones and a Pixel Watch 5. The text reads, "The ultimate power trio for your wrist, ears, and hands. Preorder Pixel devices now."
There's another Reddit post showing the same device at a different angle and asking "Is this the Fitbit Charge 7 hiding in Google’s new Pixel ad?" That's a possibility, of course.
Would you buy a Fitbit Charge 7 if Google launched one?

The device in question looks a lot like the Fitbit Charge 6, but it's much rounder and follows the aesthetics of the Pixel Watch.
This led many users on Reddit to speculate whether or not this is an unreleased Fitbit Charge 7 model, which Google failed to show at the Made by Google event.
However, it's very strange that Google would miss the opportunity to show a new Fitbit tracker or its own rebrand at its biggest event of the year. Many people want a simple fitness band with an affordable price tag and grab a Pixel Charge (not a bad name) in a heartbeat. I'm one of those people, by the way.

Another possible explanation is the dreaded AI. It's extremely easy to create stuff with AI nowadays, and either Nano Banana hallucinated the device and it slipped into the final version of the ad, or a third party generated it to draw attention.
The text underneath the image talks about a trio of devices and fails to mention the mystery fitness band. If you're launching a brand-new device or reviving an iconic one (Fitbit), this doesn't make much sense.
Another possible indicator that this might be fake is the fact that there were zero rumors of such a device, contrary to the massive heap of leaks about the other Pixel devices announced on August 12.
Do we need another Fitbit?

Yes, we do! Of course, this is my opinion, but a smaller, lighter, and more affordable fitness tracker to take advantage of all the new software algorithms sounds amazing. The Pixel Watch 5 is almost identical to the previous generation, and most of the improvements come in software form.
The last Fitbit device with a screen was the Fitbit Charge 6 from three years ago. I think it's time for Google to expand its portfolio with a new fitness band. What do you think about this? Would you buy a Fitbit Charge 7 or Pixel Charge tracker?
