Samsung's summer Unpacked event, the company's second biggest event of the year, is now finished. The show took place in London on July 22, 2026, and it delivered everything the leaks had been promising for months – and then some.

Samsung unveiled five new devices across two product families: two foldables in familiar form factors, one brand-new wide-format foldable that's a direct answer to Apple's upcoming iPhone Ultra, and two smartwatches going further into AI health territory than any Galaxy Watch before them. Here's a rundown of everything announced.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra: the staple foldable, upgraded

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is the direct successor to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, keeping the familiar tall book-style design.

The biggest upgrades are the battery – now 5,000mAh, up 14% from the Fold 7's 4,400mAh cell, with 45W wired and 20W wireless charging replacing the old 25W ceiling – and the cameras, headlined by a 200MP main sensor with 2x optical quality zoom and a new 50MP ultra-wide.

The new Flex Titanium hinge technology also delivers a noticeably less visible crease, while the inner display now hits 3,000 nits peak brightness and comes with an anti-reflective coating.

Recommended For You
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is the right pick if you want Samsung's most capable book-style foldable and you're coming from a Fold 6 or older. The combination of a larger battery, significantly faster charging, a meaningfully upgraded camera system, and the improved crease makes this one of the more substantial generational leaps the Fold line has delivered.

Galaxy Z Fold 8: Samsung's brand-new foldable model

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is an entirely new type of Samsung foldable – wider, shorter, and built around a 4:3 aspect ratio that makes the unfolded experience feel closer to a compact tablet than a traditional book-style phone.

The foldable packs a 7.6-inch inner display alongside a 4,800mAh battery with 45W wired charging, and its dual 50MP camera system puts it on comparable footing with the rumored foldable iPhone. At 201 grams, it's also the lightest Galaxy Z Fold Samsung has ever made.

This one is for anyone who has found previous Fold models too narrow and tall for comfortable everyday use, or who wants a foldable that doubles as a genuine tablet alternative without the bulk.

Galaxy Z Flip 8: pocketable AI powerhouse

The Galaxy Z Flip 8 is the slimmest and lightest Flip Samsung has made thus far – 6.1mm thin and 180 grams, which is 13.1% thinner and 3.9% lighter than the Flip 7. The clamshell design carries over largely unchanged, but the refinements add up: a stronger hinge, an Armor Aluminum frame, and a smarter FlexWindow experience powered by expanded Galaxy AI.

The Flip 8 is the right pick if you want a genuinely pocketable smartphone that doesn't compromise on software smarts. That said, it's worth being upfront about what hasn't changed: the camera system, battery capacity, and charging speed are all carried over from the Flip 7.

Galaxy Watch Ultra 2: top-tier build and sports features

The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 keeps the 47mm titanium design but makes it 12% slimmer, bumps the battery to 800mAh – a 35% increase – and pushes display brightness to 5,000 nits, a world first for smartwatches. The durability rating also steps up from IP68 to IP69K, and the new Snapdragon Wear Elite chip brings meaningful AI and efficiency gains over Samsung's previous Exynos-based watches.

The health and sports platform is where the Ultra 2 really separates itself. Five AI-powered features – Vitals, Heart Health Score, Daily Cardio Load, Fitness Index, and Hearing protection – turn continuous BioActive sensor data into practical daily guidance. Athletes get Trail Run with real-time elevation and terrain tracking, Nutrition Alert for hydration, and a Diving app arriving later this year. This is Samsung's most capable sports watch to date.

Galaxy Watch 9: modern wellness daily driver

The Galaxy Watch 9 carries forward the Watch 8's popular squircle design – a square aluminum case with a round display and a cushioned silhouette that wears comfortably all day, now available in a wider range of bands including the new soft-silicone Misty Band and a breathable Fabric Band aimed at sleep tracking.

It now runs on the Snapdragon Wear Elite chip for better AI performance and efficiency. The 44mm model gets a modest battery bump to 445mAh, and both sizes support fast charging. Display sizes, resolution, and 3,000 nits peak brightness all carry over from last year.

The real story is the health platform. The Watch 9 brings the same five AI-powered features as the Ultra 2 – Vitals, Heart Health Score, Daily Cardio Load, Fitness Index, and Hearing protection – alongside the returning staples: blood pressure monitoring, ECG, skin temperature, blood oxygen, sleep tracking, and the Antioxidant Index.

If you want Samsung's full AI wellness experience in a lighter, more everyday-friendly package than the Ultra 2, the Watch 9 is the one.

Samsung Intelligent Eyewear: Galaxy AI on your face

Samsung used Unpacked to introduce its intelligent eyewear, built in collaboration with Google and designed in partnership with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker. The frames run Android XR with Gemini AI built in, and come in styles from both eyewear brands – lightweight, slim, and built for all-day wear.

As a hands-free extension of the Galaxy ecosystem, the eyewear brings Gemini's context-aware assistance into everyday moments – commuting, working, navigating – without requiring you to reach for your phone.

There's no display on this first generation; all output is audio. Samsung and Google first previewed the eyewear together at Google I/O 2026, with Unpacked serving as the full official introduction ahead of a fall 2026 launch.
