AMD and OnePlus also pulled out of the CES 2022 tech event
AMD and OnePlus announced that they won't be physically present at the CES 2022 tech event. Instead, they will attend the CES event virtually. This decision comes due to the rise of COVID-19's Omicron variant cases.

In a statement, AMD said, "After careful deliberation, AMD has decided to cancel our in-person presence at CES 2022 in Las Vegas and will instead transition to a virtual experience. Our in-person engagements will now transition to virtual in the best interest of the health and safety of our employees, partners, and communities. " Although it won't be in person, AMD will still hold its scheduled announcements on Jan. 4.

Mark Gurman of Bloomberg first reported that OnePlus also won't be physically present at the CES 2022 event. The news was then confirmed by CNET as well. At the CES 2022 event, OnePlus is expected to reveal virtually the OnePlus 10 Pro. OnePlus's CEO, Pete Lau, confirmed that the OnePlus 10 Pro would be revealed in January. Then, a rumor came out that the OnePlus 10 Pro would debut at CES 2022.

AMD and OnePlus are joining several companies that have also said they will not be physically present at CES 2022. T-Mobile, Microsoft, Google, and Intel are just some of the companies that have announced they will only attend the event virtually.

CES (Consumer Electronics Show) is an annual show held in January in Las Vegas. At CES, new products and technologies in the tech world are typically presented. CES 2022 will be held January 5–8, with strict safety measures in place as well as digital access to the event.
