Verizon optimized CDMA version of BlackBerry KEYone to arrive soon at Best Buy

So you've been dying to buy the BlackBerry KEYone. Who could blame you? With the fretted QWERTY Keyboard that makes typing so easy also doubling as a touchpad, and the fingerprint scanner embedded in the Space Bar, the KEYone is all about making the most out of a well-designed handset. And since the phone is powered by the energy sipping Snapdragon 625 chipset, battery life is fantastic.

The BlackBerry KEYone in its unlocked CDMA form will soon be available in this incantation from Best Buy, "optimized for Verizon network support." The unit is priced at $549.99, matching the cost of the GSM model. Once Best Buy starts shipping the device, you will be able to order the KEYone and pick it up inside your local Best Buy store.

Later this summer, CDMA carrier Sprint will be offering a branded version of the KEYone. This model though, will be locked down to the Sprint network.

Even though CDMA is antiquated technology that's soon to be killed off by the carriers still using it, it's nice to see BlackBerry Mobile sticking to their word and will be releasing a CDMA version of the KEYone with optimized bands for Verizon, and it's unlocked to boot. True, CDMA isn't dead yet, but it's dying and will most likely be put out to pasture the year 2020, which isn't that far off. With Sprint carrying it later this summer, and their already being a GSM unlocked version, anyone looking to get a KEYone that's on any of the four U.S. major carriers will be covered.

What kind of bizarre product launch is this? "Available in North America as of June 1," said no one (unless you happen to post reviews on You Tube). For the rest of us who are willing to throw some money at Blackberry (hello, T-mobile: I can see my corporate flagship store outside my Michigan Ave. office- anybody in there?), we're looking to dump our flagships (chained to wall outlets) for something that will actually allow us to walk around in public places for hours and shoot off messages/emails/etc while we enjoy fresh air. Fix your screen/adhesive issue and release the phone. I'm sick of my underwhelming 2016 tech. Thanks.

@Post #2 http://www.phonearena.com/news/BlackBerry-Mobile-will-look-for-a-better-adhesive-to-keep-KEYone-screens-from-popping-out_id94903 BlackBerry Mobile is already looking to fix the screen issue, have said it only affected a handful of devices (still, no excuses as it shouldn't have happened in the first place), and will even replace devices with faulty screens that are in warranty. And I wholeheartedly agree, we need more flagship devices that will keep us unchained from wall outlets.

This entire launch has been a complete failure. Not only did they delay the launch because of the S8, but they are also running into issues with the screen. Admittedly, it's only happened to a few handsets, but it's not like a lot of people have the KeyONE right now. There's no reason for them to slip up here.

There are thousands of people that have a KEYone right now. I'm still waiting on you to provide the link that proves that the KEYone was delayed because of the S8. Right now, you're just posting ignorance, since you can't back it up.

And that changes the point of my comment how? Lol, you're still crying about that? You just lack something called business sense. It's not a knock against blackberry, but releasing a device right at the same time the S8 launched is just asking for sales to be gutted, for a lack of a better word.

You said not that many people have a KEYone right now. They've sold thousands. I know that's a hard concept for you to comprehend. Take your time. Lol, are you still deflecting from that? Crying because I keep calling you out on the fact that you cannot provide a link backing yourself up? Your business would be shut down if you couldn't provide certain documentation when requested, so that business sense crack obviously refers to you. There is a little something called "facts" and the "truth" that get in the way of your storytelling. You can't provide a link proving what you're saying, so you're just going to continue to make willfully ignorant statements. Anything for you to troll BlackBerry, even if it's false information.

You weren't aware of the release date, which is why you were referred to Crackberry. That's only thousands in the world compared to the millions of users here in the US. I don't even know why I'm explaining it to you considering that you're only doing this because I said something you didn't like. And you can't provide any information that says otherwise other than some denial from a representative of TCL. There's several sites that even hint at it. Where there's smoke, there's fire. It's not trolling at all. It's a simple FACT. And that's not even anything negative. Companies change their release date all the time to keep from releasing something so close to something that can rival it and potentially cannibalize their sales. http://www.investopedia.com/terms/m/marketcannibilization.asp You might want to read this and maybe get something through that thick skull of yours where a brain isn't anywhere to be found.

Your point? Going by PA, the release date hadn't come yet. And your point again? Thousands is more than a few. You're backtracking, not explaining, and you're only doing it because I called you out. Lol, that's not a denial. That's a fact. I'm absolutely positive that the people closest to the matter know far more about than you do. It's not a FACT unless it can be PROVEN, and the only thing that can be proven is that the TCL CEO said the device was delayed so that supply an meet demand. The truth doesn't give a dam about your opinion and conjecture, and doesn't require your consent to be remain true. http://www.computerworld.com/article/3193010/smartphones/blackberry-keyone-sales-delayed-a-month-to-meet-demand.html That's pure fact^. Until you can provide something legit proving what the person closest to the matter has said to be false, anything you say and post is just pure lies, ignorance and trolling on your part. http://departments.kings.edu/carts/fys/HowdoFactsandOpinionsDiffer.docx You might want to read this^ and maybe get something through that cement head of yours. I know it will be tough, considering you're an inbred multi-account trolling shill that lacks any sort of intelligence.

That's a technicality. It's still a few compared to the millions of users. Like I said before, you know that, but you're just trying to deflect from the truth. You're trying to cover up for your obvious lack of knowledge. So where are the numbers to back that up then? A CEO can give a veiled statement in order to deflect from the issue. CEOs do it all the time. You are are clearly in denial. Again, show me the numbers then. I think you're the one who needs to read that link because you are the one who continues to mix subjective and objective.

It's not a technicality, it's a fact. But you know that, you're just trying to deflect from the truth. And what you don't know could fill several Navy destroyer class battleships. NO ONE releases numbers anymore, not even your precious Apple. However, TCL themselves said "thousands". Now where is your proof that the delay is because if the S8? Ignorant trolls like you post BS all of the time concerning OEM's that they troll, without any evidence to back it up. You're just in denial because if your hate for BlackBerry. Again, show me proof that it was because of the S8. Not some BS theory. An actual link with factual information. I posted one. Whether you choose to believe it or not doesn't make it any less true. Why can't you post a link? You're definitely the one that needs to read it, because you clearly don't know the difference between fact and opinion.

It's only a fact in your false narrative. You should change your avatar to Bizzaro since you are already living in Bizzaro World. *Of. Aka, I have nothing that constitutes as verifiable proof with numbers as a source to back it up, so I'm just going to talk out of my @$$. A thinly veiled statement from a CEO that doesn't say anything. Again, it was a hypothesis based on a likely scenario. Get over it. I don't know the difference? Lol, you're the one who argued with me just because I said that their cases will be expensive.

It's not a fact that "thousands" are more than "a few"? What the what? How stupid are you? That's basic math. You should change your name to "Stupidman", because you sure are the epitome of stupid is as stupid does. So you can't provide a link to dispute what the TCL CEO said about the KEYone? That's all you had to say, instead of rambling on like an idiot. In other worlds, you can't prove your conjecture, and now you're seething with anger about it. You clearly don't know the difference, or you wouldn't be here trying to pass off your opinion as fact.

You are the one is too stupid to understand what I was getting at when I said a few. It's not my fault that you lack quantitative analysis skills. And you can't provide the numbers to support said statement. My conjecture is far more likely than the statement about the demand causing the delay.

Lol, you're ability to change the facts to suit your false narrative is in overdrive right now. You really are as stupid as everyone says you are if you think you're fooling anyone. I don't need to. I never made a statement challenging the facts, you did. No it's not. And the fact that you can't supply a link to back up what you said further proves me to be right, while proving you wrong.

Your lack of quantitative skills is no one's fault but your own. The stupidity here is you. If it's‚Äča fact, then you shouldn't have any questions backing it up with the numbers that were requested. Where there's smoke, there's a fire.

Lol, you can always tell when you've learned a new word. Lol, what? I don't have any questions. Lay off the sauce when responding to me. And I'm still waiting for you to post that link about the S8 being the cause of the KEYone delay. Where there's a lying, inbred trolling Apple shill that likes to post fantasy as fact, there's you.

51. Flash

You don't know what that word means. You need an education in vocabulary. You are in denial if you think that the S8 didn't effect the KeyONE release. Why else would they delay it? So says the lying, inbred blackberry shill who likes to deny sht.

Lmao! You're STILL going on with this??? Dude, it's like nine days past now. Let it go. Get over it. You're an inbred trolling Apple shill. You proved that on the many recent Samsung and Apple articles here. You make up stories, can't back them up, and try to pass it off as fact with no factual evidence to support you, all while living in denial. AND you're mxyzptlk. This is all proven, mxyzptlk. Give it up, already. You're dismissed.

I'll let it go when I d@mn well please. I'm not going to give you the luxury of having the last word in. You're the shill. You just don't get it do you? I can make you respond because you are that predictable. You are an inbred blackberry shill. You are a puppet and I am the puppet master pulling your strings. I don't have to make up stories, alphageek. Besides, you are STILL in doubt and it's hilarious. You are getting worked.

Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!! You're seething with anger right now, and you won't stop responding because your megalomania won't let you. You lost ever since I made you deactivate your mxyzptlk account. Let it go and get and get over it. I'm done with you here. You just keep saying the same old BS and lies over and over again. See all my previous comments, including this one when you inevitably respond. Lmao!

I'm not seething with anger. If anything, you are. That's why you're throwing a hissy fit on the latest blackberry article and that's why you brought your jplightning alias back into the mix. Lol, I've been pummeling you so much that I forced you to turn to your other alias. And you are the only one who is guilty of recycling responses over and over. I told you once before that I'm not going to give you the luxury of having the last word in. You're dismissed after this comment

Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!! You're STILL attacking me here?? Didn't you just try and say on another BlackBerry that I have no life because all I do is try to win efights on a tech blog? And yet, here you are, over 10 days later, still trying to win. You've even resorted to attacking me with two new alias accounts, one of which I already made you shut down, mxyzptlk. We all know that you're Flash and Tony_Stark. See my previous comments and begone, lame hypocrite mxyashmite.

I would be more worried about Gluegate than Verizon stripping features from the KeyONE especially since the last time a blackberry released on Verizon, it sold poorly.
